I mean, in her own words, Sylvanas no longer considers herself the Ranger-General of Silvermoon or the Banshee Queen of the Forsaken. She only considers herself a Windrunner.
Since all of the remaining living Windrunners are in the Alliance (Alleria, Vereesa, the Half-Elf twins, and Arator), isn’t it more likely that Sylvanas will return as an Alliance or Alliance-leaning character?
Why would she care about the Forsaken or Blood Elves? She no longer considers herself the Ranger-General or Banshee Queen. She only sees herself as a Windrunner now. Her own words.
I’m sure Villian McBadGuy will just be made a super awesome hero that everyone will instantly love again even though she never cares about literally anyone the entire time
Being a loyalist after all this time including her publicly admitting she didn’t think much of it is certainly fascinating. Outside of simpery, I’d be interested in being told the thought process.
It’s just fan-service, that entire questline was fan-service. Horde players complain that Blizzard ignores them yet that is not what BfA shows us. They literally added an entire secondary path for RP purposes (unpreceedented in this game) just because Forsaken/WC2 Horde players didn’t want to oppose Muh Queen.
Either way, there’s nothing to remain loyal to. Sylvanas no longer considers herself the Banshee Queen of the Forsaken. She only sees herself as a Windrunner, nothing more.
I hope she misses whatever happens with the elves later on. If she is brought back, do it after. let her come back when her appearance wont matter outside simpery.
Of course it means something.
Sylvanas: Greetings, my most loyal ally. I speak to you now from beyond the veil of Death.
Sylvanas: Here, in this place of eternal darkness, my work – my penance – continues.
Sylvanas: Though the Maw is an unlikely place for one to find peace, each soul I rescue helps mine feel a little more… whole.
Sylvanas: As I ponder my deeds since being raised into undeath, I have many regrets. Things said and choices made that I wish could be taken back.
Sylvanas: But there is one thing for which I will always be proud: helping the Forsaken find their place in a world that shunned them.
Sylvanas: My time to lead may be over, but I will always stand with you against those who would cast you out and call you monsters.
Sylvanas: Under the leadership of the Desolate Council, a new group of voices has arisen to represent all Forsaken.
Sylvanas: Stand proud in the Horde. Know that you all of you were so much more than arrows in my quiver.
Sylvanas: As much as the family I was born into, you will always be my people. And one day, I do hope to walk among you once again.
Sylvanas: I must go. There are many more souls yet to be freed… among them, one that is most dear to me.
Sylvanas: Shorel’aran, my friend.
If you were a Sylvanas Loyalist then at the end of the Shadowlands epilogue quests she explicitly states that leading the Forsaken and helping them find stability in undeath is one of the few things that she does not regret, and that no matter what she would always stand by their side if needed.
Probably doesn’t extend to the rest of the Horde nearly as much and having her soul back together certainly makes a difference on her perspective and ability to care about others at all, but at least as far as the Forsaken go she certainly does care now, and she hopes to one day walk among them again, leader or not.
