Then how come it didn’t happen when Deathwing blew up a bunch of zones during Cataclysm?
Comparing between a sword and Deathwings tantrum is Deathwings tantrum is like getting a cut on your arm than with Sargeras’s sword its equivalent of getting impaled by a sword.
I do agree getting impaled with a sword is definitely the equivalent of getting impaled with a sword.
What if you were impaled through the flesh part of your arm?
Deathwing just caused some “natural” disasters by flying around or something. Sargeras stabbed Azeroth in the… whatever. Face? Heart? What’s the plot of BfA again?
I would say that Deathwing was akin to getting a bad rash for Azeroth.
Deathwing reshaped portions of the planet’s crust but didn’t necessary cause harm to the Titan structures protecting the World Soul’s Heart. Sargeras made a calculated strike in an attempt to strike the Heart and kill the planet.
Aiming for the wound concept and I did struggle to answer him correctly.
Twilight Cultist: “It’s a hit!”
Deathwing: “Negative. Negative. It didn’t go in. It Just impacted on the surface.”
Kiljaden: “Sargeras, you switched off your targeting computer. What’s wrong?”
Sargeras: “Nothing. I am all right.”
Gallywix: “Great shot kid. That was one in a million.”
Gallywix proceeds to loot the oozing blood…
Settle the debate with my new paid goblin service! For a small fee, we will stab you in the heart! Is it worse than some scratches and burns? You decide!
Deathwing was basically just surface damage, there’s only three instances where apparently there was a penetrating wound:
- When the Titans ripped Y’Shaarj from the planet
- The mining on Kezan
- Sargeras stabby-stabby
Because there wasn’t an arbitrary grind mechanic to extend subscription life in cata, therefore no plot device was needed.
The real question is how did an Aspect cause more damage and immediate change to Azeroth than a Titan?
He was fused with old god magic. Yeah!
This was gonna be my point. Deathwing’s tantrum, though devastating to the normal races of Azeroth is nothing in comparison to having a sword shoved so far into you, it may very well reach your core. Azerite is the result of Azeroth hemorrhaging. Not the result of a paper cut.
I thought in the day of the dragons novel they talked about how deathwing was resting in the core of the world. I can’t exactly remember
Deathwing was the equivalent of a boil on the bum for Azeroth.
Deathwing is so burly!
I believe the plot of BfA is to keep testing classes and specs until the expansion is over.
