Release it now, at least there would be “something” to do for the next month or two for alts. Just do it already.

From what I understand the servers are in various states of disarray at the moment. Why would they compound it?

I agree with the proto night elf. Id rather have the event too long then have nothing to do.
Or maybe spend some time learning how to play with class changes first, to make the new content go better?

This. And we won’t get the event u til about 3 weeks out from actual launch.
It’s a lead up to launch, has only a few weeks worth of stuff timegated and some dailies I think. Take a break if you have nothing to do… /shrug
Been on the BETA for a couple of months. Not really anything that changed for my main. Also, I’m pretty sure we can do both.
Not sure that’s a problem that would correlate nor compound that problem.
Clearly. I was just saying that doing the event and getting alts equipped with new gear would have been nice. They kind of upended current content. Unless of course, you’re satisfied with “barber” only patch. Pretty weak IMO.
Agreed. However, I’ve maxed the account since last November. It was 50 120’s, now there’s 50 50’s. I suppose I can delete them; but, there are other games to play. Just my main server would have been nice to actually do something with the alts to get replaceable gear on launch of SL. This would have been a good time to play with all of the classes; but, here we are, changing how our characters look.
Again, have them all. Maxed account.
Ya, I get what you’re saying. I would just like to really flesh out all the alts with some gear and do some light content or whatever for a month or two. I will be playing something else, just makes more sense if we had access to temp gear to really flesh it out. I could go do all that in beta, but doing it twice doesn’t seem exactly “fun”.
Hey, I dunno, it’s not like we aren’t paying for the content. They shut down this expansion, not sure it’s fair to have people paying to wait; but, that’s just an opinion. IF it’s ready, there is no reason they can’t make it live. It’s already included in this patch.
Yeah I hear you, I would like to also at the very least get some higher gear or ez gear for alts doing something fresh this year.

You pay for server access. Content comes as it comes, if you feel you are being short-changed in some regard, people should speak with their wallets. Not to be rude, it’s just how it is. It’s not like you are paying LOTR for their content pack for access to more content.
I’m not sure they want you playing the pre patch event for 2 months possibly. They IMO knew it was going to cause lots of issues, so pre patch event, plus the whole pre patch would cause them a huge head ache. So if they space it out, fix this mess, perhaps the scourge event will be in a better state to handle 
I understand what you’re saying… but they ended current content. They could have let things go on is all I’m saying. If the release date was actually (random date) Dec 8th, then close out the expansion mid/early November. I’m not sure we had to have a barber patch and abilities that may/may not be what we are looking at when the release comes nor will it have really an idea without all the other convoluted systems and being 60.

I agree but I look at it this way. I think they did the best with what they had in terms of ‘a release’ of any kind.
We only really had the 8.3 cycle, not a lot of people wanted to keep corruptions around, in a few weeks when bugs are more ironed out people who still are progressing or farming can go about doing that tier since you can still get the void wing.
More people back PVPing, more people leveling, and overall just more ‘end of expansion’ stuff people are doing in this lull.
They didn’t really take anything anyway that would fix someones’ boredom. Or doing visions for 2000th time.
If it’s not something that is interesting me, I will go and resub or try out the pre patch event or when shadowlands starts or whatever.
The Scourge event would of helped, but it is what it is at this point… I can’t see them releasing it right now atm.
I’m guessing you are unaware of the large amount of bugs that came with prepatch. Give them some time. I didnt want to believe but they really need it.

I’m not sure that’s the case for “everyone”. Borrowed power is bad; but, my character has an output of damage of BFA launch @ 110.
They ended the PVP season and Mythic Raid CE.
Again, I don’t care about the event as much as playing with welfare loot for alts. Get a feel for how they played. I was hoping the azerite gear would be shut off; but, after seeing how it plays in current content, I’m not so sure that would have been a good thing.
Again, ignoring all the trolls, I don’t think the vendor for this quasi patch loot would have destroyed Azeroth as we know it. It’s literally in this patch, it’s not something they need to do. The fact that people’s servers are broken or it’s a fuzzy launch I understand. People working from home, COVID… I’m in total understanding of it and don’t hold that against them at all.
Again, for me, it would have been nice to have a protracted launch to flesh out geared alts. I don’t see what’s wrong with that concept.
