IF players can play 1-20 as a trial - restrictions

So, if you don’t have an active BFA account… you can only play as a trial… some of us are curious if you will also be able to play as a trial on Classic.

I hope that you cannot play any Classic unless you have an active BFA subscription…

Some people believe that it could be helpful because players will not be willing to try Classic for $15.

I think that if someone that plays BFA doesn’t want to dish $15 out to play classic… it will be a non issue because they already have BFA so they can try Classic for “Free”.

However, if an option is implemented so that you can make a level 1-10 or 1-20 trail… this is what I think some of the restrictions should be…

  • Trails should only be able to level to 10 for free. (It takes hours in Vanilla to get to level 10. I think these is plenty of time to get a feel for the game.)

  • Trails can NOT trade items or gold to other players

  • Trails can NOT use the Mailbox or Auction House

  • Trails can NOT speak in /yell /tell /1 /2 /3 /4 (Only exception is /say and /party)

  • Trails can NOT enter any main city

  • Trails can NOT enter any dungeon

  • Trails can NOT take flight paths

  • Trails can NOT speak more than 2 times in a 20 second window

  • Trails auto pass any world drop Green if in a group with other ACTIVE members

  • Trails have a gold cap of 5 gold

  • Trails can NOT join guilds

  • Trails can NOT accept more than 2 quests at a time

  • Trails Heathstone cooldowns are set to 2 hours. Up from 1 hour

  • Trails can not /afk or /dance /wave… etc. No emotes available to Trails

  • Trails must press escape to exit the game. No /logout /exit should be available as a trial

  • Trials are limited to choosing 1 new spell from their trainer. All other spells are reserved for active players

  • Trails can only walk 100 yards before gaining debuff “Fatigue” and moving 40% slower for the next 60 seconds.

  • Trails have debuff called “Trail Exhaustion” that only allows them to play for an hour before getting booted off the server for 30 minutes. Even if you are on a dead realm… no exceptions.

  • Trails get insta banned and silenced from /say if someone uses “Right Click Report” feature on them.

  • Trials walk 50% slower while dead. Night Elf is 75% slower because wisp form is faster.

  • You can only play Undead for Horde and Gnome as alliance as a trail

  • You are limited to Paladin as a trail… no other classes are available

  • In order to login to a trail account, you must wait in a 2000 person queue… if the server is low pop… you will be allowed to enter character selection screen after 15 minute wait period

  • Trials must pay an additional $5 a month if they decide they want to play after the trail period is over.

Good day.

You shouldnt say BFA subscription.

I could of not played since MoP but if I were to add a subscription/game time to my account I’d be able to play 1-110 without having to buy WoD or Legion

You shouldnt say BFA subscription.

Apologies, I’ll keep that in mind when writing my next post.

No worries.

I also wouldn’t be to worried. I’m not sure when trial accounts started but if they offered them for classic I’d imagine they’d carry the same restrictions as when they were first introduced.

I know there was a gold cap. You couldnt talk in chat channels (not 100% sure on say yell) and could only reply back to whispers not start them. I believe you could get invited to a group but couldn’t start one.
I’m also 99% sure there were restrictions on trading items.

I think that those restrictions that op listed are too much. It would take alot from the game experiance, especialy for the ppl who never played vanila or posibly wow alltogether and wanted to see what is all this classic hype all about.

No changes

No trial accounts

‘Trails’ didn’t exist in vanilla. But I think trials could be a positive addition for people trying the game before they buy a sub. Not straight away but maybe a few months into the xpac when it traditionally sheds players.

The restrictions shouldn’t affect too much gameplay but should restrict gold selling/advertising in any way possible.

I think you went a little too harsh on the restrictions. A lot I agree with like the trading, speaking, gold cap and so on.

The quest limits on how many they can have? That doesn’t make much sense. The city restrictions? I’m assuming you did this out of fear of gold farmers? But that is a major part of the beginning imo to get people to play.

The hearthstone makes no sense to me

The no /logout makes no sense to me

Limited to one spell from the trainer makes no sense to me

Ah just read the last one and saw you were trolling.

Oh well still posting this just cuz

Back in the day, you got 30 days game time with your purchase of the CDs.

Later it was like a 14 day trial, then after that came level based free trial. Something like that.

In any case, the OPs restrictions are ridiculous. Either don’t have a trial, or make it reasonable. I’m okay with a level 10 restriction or something, but everything else is just stupid. What would entice anyone to pay and play when they experience NO mmo qualities. Maybe I’ve I help out a low level trial player, throw them a green or something, they’ll say, “Hey, there’s cool people here and the game is fun, I’m going to sub!”

Chat restrictions? How will they ask for help? Lol. No trading, Travel restrictions, 2 hour HS, etc… are all just plain stupid. Gold farmers aren’t going to make any money on a level 10 character, so don’t even go there…

I hope Blizzard is laughing at you hysterically.

No classic trials. It is bad enough it will be negatively effected by tourism. Classic needs no further bloat.

I assume Blizzard made it clear when they said a ‘subscription to the retail game’ gave access to Classic. A free trial account is not a sub. No Classic free trial.

Furthermore, it doesn’t appear there is going to be any shortage of people trying to play Classic. Blizzards main concern right now should be how to manage the huge influx of players and how many servers they are going to need to keep startup running smoothly.

There will be no free trial in Classic WoW, free trials are suppose to be for new players to play WoW for the first time and Blizzard wants them to go to modern WoW where the cash shop is. It’s just the way things are now, we can’t do anything about it…

Classic trial would be awesome! I don’t understand why some people want to put so many monetization barriers to the game.
