If player housing came, how would you like to earn it?

Such as the products for player housing? Personally, i’d like to see challenges to do fights/instances in weird ways.

Examples.

She loves me, she loves me Stockholm… Defeat Emperor Thaurissian while his wife is alive. [Rewards-Dark Iron guard for player housing]

Stockades just set back! Defeat Hogger, Lord Overheat, and Randolph Molach at the same time. [Rewards- Stockade prisoners/Prison.]

And yeah yeah, I know it prolly won’t happen…But it’s a fun thought!

Clarification: I just used those 2 ideas as a toss in…I DO NOT mean garrisons!..But seriously, you guys don’t have a stockades in your housing?

Also, this would not effect gameplay, nor would it have something valuable inside. AKA: It’s just there for fun!

Vendors for the basics and if we’re assuming Blizzard actually puts resources into developing this, a profession for the rest. Or just disperse it through existing professions, that’d be fine too.

Well raid drops from old content would be nice but mostly I want to see it come from professions and side activities/achievements.

Ion upfront said they dont know how to make Professions better and I really believe that making it everyday useful, not just high end potions, would do wonders for its use.

None of the example rewards here fit in the player house aspect I envision. Do normal houses contain prisons? Or need guards?

OK, maybe the guard to keep your lands safe. But my Player House fantasy involves a farm (that only provides mats specific to the Player House system and doesn’t translate to PvE or PvP items for world/raid use).

Aesthetic items would include decor in the form of statues of the foes I’ve slain (would differ in visual quality depending on the difficulty of where it came from). Or Raid/Dungeon awarded rugs, and such.

Honestly? Ideally? I just want a playground where I can put down more or less whatever I want.

Or something a la SWTOR’s guild unlock system, whereby, once you’ve earned a decoration once, you can purchase unlimited copies with credits.

It’s really not fun to feel like your creativity is hindered just because you didn’t grind a lucky deco drop, or whatever.

Now this just makes me think you want a Garrisons 2.0.

And that’s not what I want. Outta here with that kinda talk!

I think the concept of player housing is flawed and pointless. I can’t see any value in a meeting place in a game where teleportation is common place.

Games with player housing where it didnt just feel like hunting collectibles tended to use them as gathering points.

Oh no no no! I hate garrisons! I was just using it as an example…More of a…Bodyguard or something, as for the stockades…You don’t have one?

Ask my true Queen Azshara for a room in her eternal palace

Are Stockades something that comes with player housing in other MMOs?

I was gonna say…

This is basically what you’re garrison was. And because it killed the social aspect of the game, most don’t want that back.

Class halls, however, if we could do things like create guild neighborhoods or just simply expand the class hall idea? I would 100% be down for that.

I’m a roleplayer, so my interest always comes from there. Having more (especially phased) places you can use for RP is always nice.

More than you think…Well more of a 1 cell prison but you get the idea, always kept beneath the house, or in an upper floor.

In my experience, people don’t really want it for a convenient meeting place for content, they want it for RP purposes.

I really didn’t get why people wanted player housing in WoW so much until I started replaying Oblivion a few months ago and got really invested in my character’s identity and home in Chorrol. Having that piece of the world that’s yours that you can do with as you please is… really satisfying. I could honestly spend hours dealing with Oblivion’s wonky physics trying to stack decorations on the shelves and love every moment of it.

Please do not tell me you asked this on Moonguard.

I don’t want player housing unless it’s just cosmetic and not necessary to game play like the garrison was.

That depends. Am I playing World of Warcraft or Dwarf Fortress?
