If Pikaboo quits, so will everyone else. He says the 10.1 changes are bad and I believe him

You do know you have a trinket right? And teammates too? No one should be sitting a 12+ sec CC chain in 2023.

go ahead and try saving trinket on the opening sap and watch your teammate die in the opener because you thought you could recover. Even if the other team is incompetent and can’t kill the target in the first 10 seconds while the healer is sapped, the next blind sap combo will do the job. This doesn’t even account for the other enemies using crowd control.

Why are you allowing yourself to get sapped in opener instead of getting in combat ASAP?

Yeah sometimes I can jade lightning to prevent this and it does make a difference. Most of the time though, the rogue communicates with their team to let him sap before starting. So most players are behind a pillar and you can’t get in combat before the sap comes. It’s not difficult to sap the healer before combat starts.

imo CC was never the biggest complain in PvP, it was just the burst. They should’ve nerfed burst and not CC.

Honestly – the game is more than just the Arena.
These changes are prolly gonna be great in World PvP and BG’s.

I hope they go live. Might actually start PvPing again. One of my biggest complaints has always been that there is WAY too much CC in this game.

Personally, I could care less about the Arena. It’s not even fun to watch pro players play it. It’s not even fun to watch the AWC with announcers trying to make it exciting. It’s just “Oh he almost got oneshot, oh now he’s fine, oh a different guy almost got oneshot oh he’s fine now… oh some guy is getting cc’d… oh some guy is running around the pillar… oh it’s been like 5 minutes and now there is so much dampening that neither healer can really do anything… oh some guy got oneshot and the game is over. cool”

I’d rather watch League any day of the week. Objective based PvP is way more interesting.

I agree that burst is a huge problem. Matches last less than 3 minutes on average. The problem for me is that crowd control was never adjusted to compensate for the damage increase. Burst is hard to heal through and requires major cooldowns in response, but trying to give that response through CC is not fun gameplay. CC is still in the game and will still be a major part of pvp, but the days of rogue mage locking a player out of playing the game are overdue for a change.

My guess is most of the people here who think these changes are a good idea are the same kinds of people who say “communism works, it just hasn’t been done properly”. It’s not just the CC durations in terms of stuns/incaps/disorients, but the combined effect of the kick/lockout durations that will turn pvp in to a ridiculous PVE-fest & sure, for all of you who don’t really enjoy pvp then good for you - you win, you get the watered down, soy latte version that will help you ‘pull off my rotation’ outside of M+.

The pvp community is already dying & all this will do is sink it further - just wait until reality dunks this theory in the garbage where it belongs.

  • A few CC will be barely shorter then they currently are with 15% reduction from trinkets/boots. Removing those bonuses frees up gearing choices for the future of the game while keeping CC reasonable durations.
  • Reducing kick lockout by 1 seconds isn’t going to change much tbh. If anything Precog attachable to gear baseline for all casters is going to be way to overpowered.
  • Crit values needed to go down, burst is out of control.

These changes aren’t going to drastically change the face of the game, but it should help to remove some of the overwhelming aspects of PvP from the casual playerbase. That’s just my opinion at least.

Then go watch league then…?

Streamers only hurt the game

THIS! It’s like they had a flat tire & decided to replace the steering column & gearbox instead.

He would have to get a real job :joy:

While the 15% reduction from trinket will be gone & people will simply re-roll orc for the same benefit, the extra vers from double trinkets will still remain right? So how does that free up gearing choices? Isn’t that vers still massive?

Agree 100% about the baseline precog - they at least need to alter it so that it doesn’t prevent all other forms of CC?

Agree 100% that crit values needed to go down, the 1-shot mechanics are the real issue & so why wouldn’t they have just started by nerfing things like crit/damage and then tweak the CC element.

Certain comps/classes rely on well placed setups, whereas others just zug - I think certain classes, like rogue & mage (mostly rogue) will pretty much be unviable now; a well placed blind → vanish → sap is often the only way for a rogue comp to win (especially sub rogues).

You’re right about the overwhelming aspects from casuals, but that’s the problem - all this does is cater to mediocrity & doesn’t push for the best.

Drakedog, Kid, Ferhago, Rubix, and whoever did Sorrow Hill were the first PvP hypemen I’m pretty sure. Also an enhancement shaman I’m forgetting the name of.

Edit: Pretty sure Unbreakable was the shaman’s name.

Yeah Pikaboo is going to quit WoW. I hear there’s a high demand for someone with his skillset out there. Lmao

It’s like earners on minimum wage demanding rises in minimum wage without realising the flow-on effects to the wider economy. Their current level of understanding is flipping burgers & so good luck trying to explain downstream economic consequences.

Same here - people who don’t understand the right time for proper trinket use/haven’t invested the time to learn how to counter a class, just whinge & then get their way & the game turns into the current state of a big-mac: cheap, fake & filled with soggy lettuce!

You’re a fkn bully! Look at you abusing the report button just because you’re salty & don’t like what others have to say. You were on the other thread talking smack too - you’re a troll & a bully for sure. Hope you clean that basement sometimes.

So you’d rather just be a lemming rather than trying the changes yourself?

You do you, boo.
