If people have to exploit a bug that bad it’s a sign

Leveling is still trash lol I have 8 120s and I hated all of them from 110-120 where I literally felt I never got stronger or did anything of value . The game now starts at 120 not at 1 or 20.

I think people are just impatient.

I mean I had a nostalgia blast leveling in Cata zones when I was leveling my Dwarf Fury Warrior to get the Heritage set.

Whatever happened to “Its the journey the matters, not the destination”?

I don’t think your logic follows. If there are faster ways to do things, people will use them unless there are negative consequences associated with the faster way.

Time is the only truly finite resource we as humans can have, and we all recognize that at a primal level. This is part of why you’ll still see people speeding even on major thoroughfares where the speed limit is 70 or even 80 miles per hour.

Having said that, while I don’t think that leveling is trash, it isn’t as engaging as it could be. But, I don’t think it’s due to the speed at which one levels, or diminishing returns on stats.

It’s the gameplay. So much of what makes classes interesting and engaging isn’t present until 60+ and that is a massive issue.

One can only use the same few abilities so many times before it becomes dull and uninteresting, even if one is new to those abilities.

WoW’s gameplay lacks any sense of complexity during the leveling process, and there’s rarely a challenge or any sense of danger to it. The only quest I recall doing while leveling that was even remotely challenging was in Hillsbrad Foothills, taking on Yetimus.

At this point in time, there are no challenges in the game that a player cannot defeat. There are few cases where one can be soundly crushed by enemies and return stronger at a later time, or return with friends to triumph and still receive a meaningful reward.

This is a fundamental design flaw, and it starts with ability pruning and ends with quest design.

It takes less than two hours per level now from 110-120. I did it in 18 /played from 110-120 by questing alone without any xp buffs at all. What more do you want?

As long as I can remember people have exploited the game when things of this nature were found. All comfortable in the idea of “well, they did it, so I can get away with it, too.”

Many people have been mistaken about this over the years.

It’s not a new thing. It’s not about the game being bad or good. It’s about people and the fact that they cheat.

I just finished leveling my Spriest and with heirlooms I didn’t even get through a full zone before I dinged 120. That was with just a few Time walking dungeons (Like threeish) and one xp potion. People are just lazy.

It says more about the cheaters, not the leveling process. It’s stupid easy to level now.

Well…unless you are playing a Caster Cloth wearing DPS class. @ [Yayayayayaya]

I died a lot in my times leveling a Mage.

Got replaced with the instant gratification generation.

When the game gets suck, I don’t cheat, I take a break.

Cheating says more about the player than the game.

Pet battles yo! Got my paladin to 118 and my mage is just shy of 112 by doing 1 per day.

Doesn’t matter the game, doesn’t matter the platform. If there is a way to cheat your way to end game, some players will take advantage of it… That has always been true in gaming unfortunately.

I would have done the XP exploit too, if I weren’t busy the week it was going on.

When I level in this game, I pull up Netflix on a second monitor, turn off my brain and just get it over with.

That’s not what I consider a fun gaming experience.

Leveling a Pet is less fun then leveling a new Toon.

You might want to skip Classic WoW.

They should just bring back the triple XP potion for 1-90. Don’t really get why they axed it, unless we’re getting into ‘buy boost’ theories.

Those exploiting the bug did so out of choice not necessity. Break the deal, get the wheel.

then you were maging wrong. slows/stuns and blinks/kite…you should never even get hit.

for many players, leveling is just a chore to get through until you can actually start playing at max level.

note: I am not implying that exploiting the bug was ok. it’s not.

It often carries over into life also, which is sad.
