Might need to jog my memory, but i am pretty sure shaman went through an expansion being a fairly effective tank. Burning Crusade, i think, had a lrge phase of shaman tanks.
Blizz. Allied races, but specs. Don’t need to give every class a new spec, just take it one at a time. Adding a tank spec to shamans wont make druids unhappy; it will encourage them to try shaman
That’d be an ironic change of pace.
Druids becoming shamans for once!
This actually makes me like the idea. And at first thought, it seems like it would flesh out the other specs as well, rather than being the “all over the place” crap show that they are now.
Love me my Enh, don’t think I’d like to see it change drastically to a tank…
But would equally love an Earth Warden 4th spec!
I’m still a noob to WoW in general, but does there exist Agility shields? Or would Earth Warden use Strength? Or perhaps not use Shield…?
I know a lot of peeps are more concerned with Blizz getting the current 3 specs better, but I think I’d vote for a 4th. Mostly because I’m happy with Enh, don’t really like Ele in general, don’t mind Resto though I gave up on having two sets of items / weapons so have stuck to Enh since around level 60s…
How about making enhance survivability better than that of toilet paper in an inferno before we start talking about tanking?..
Ok grandpa… these are unrelated issues. The people in this thread are talking about a shaman tanking spec
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have more survivability as Enhancement, but perhaps that’s just part of our “flavor”?
But yeah, a dedicated tanking spec would be pretty cool; I think Shaman is my overall fav for flavor, and having access to all spec-types would be sweet…
No on prop shaman tanking spec
That because you just don’t want a tank spec at all, or you want other 3 to be tweaked / balanced first, afterwhich you’d happily accept tank into the fam…?
No tank spec at all. We have plenty of other classes to choose from to tank. Keep shaman 3 specs, 2 DPS, 1 Heals.
“I don’t want it, so you can’t have it either!”
Why does other people getting something they want hurt you so much? Nothing would be forcing you to play the spec if you don’t want to.
Because Blizzard sucks at balancing. I dont want to be forced into a tank spec because that is the only viable. They cant even balance 3 specs right.
Just because you want it doesnt mean you get to force it on us that dont. You want to tank? Roll a different class.
Only having 3 specs isn’t going to magically make Blizzard better at class balance.
No one is forcing anything on you. Just because a spec exists doesn’t mean you have to play it.
Oh he’d play it and he’d freaking love it. Thats why he doesnt want it
Tell that to those that play Enh. They are forced out of Enh if they want to compete.
No one is expecting them to get better at balance, but if there are 4 specs, and Resto/Ele/Enh get shafted, guess what people are forced to play? The 4th spec.
Druids got 4 specs, roll that if you want all 4 roles.
I’d play it to try it out, decide that I hate it just like i thought I would and go back to ELE/Resto.
#noonprop4specs
Why would you be forced into Tank? Isn’t a tanking role pretty different to DPS / Heals? If Ele/Enh sucked hard(er), but the Tank was a solid tank, you saying you would have to make the switch…? I can sort of understand when trying to M+ as Shaman DPS people are asking to switch to Ele for reasons, but can’t imagine they’d be like “Hey, you’re trying to join a DPS, but really you should Tank as that’s Shaman’s only viable”… would they!?
As I’ve said in other threads: challenge accepted
ohh yeah it happens all the time. Back in Legion, try joining a RBG as a DH and not tank. Good Luck. You were expected to tank, if you refused, you got booted, unless they got another DH to tank. Even then on Deepwind you were expected to go tank so you can 2 Tank it.
It happens all the time, Cata had Ele in a bad state PvP wise. Unless you knew someone cool enough to take you ele, people wanted you to be Enh or especially Resto. Same type of thing can be said for Outlaw rogues, Feral druids, Brewmaster monks, etc in the current meta.
I mean yeah can play whatever you want in a random, but if you want to compete thats generally what happens.
My caveat is I have no idea about M+ / Raiding etc, I assumed you queued for a specific role, not a class?
But that makes sense; if Shaman tank does well, and you q as Shaman, they’ll be super interested in if you can spec as Tank. If not, they’ll get the STank somewhere else, and go to a diff class for DPS / Heals…
