I cant stress enough just how important this is but, - GIVES US ANTHROPOMORPHIC DRAGONS if the next expansion IS dragon isles according to leak as well as playable dragons
I have to keep it real with you, a human, elf, orc or whatever with horns isn’t that interesting or attractive to me although it would certainly look better on furry races since they’re anthro to begin with.
Give us a dragons who take their dragon form and condense it to a humanoid shape and stature. Dragon legs, nails, hands, tail ect and most importantly, face.
I never understood alexstrasza’s appeal, i think her dragon form is more attractive. I always preferred if she went anthro instead.
So, you want Sarnaks as a playable race? I think there might be a bit of copyright infringement there. No biggie, they got the money to pay out on another lawsuit after that 19 million pittance they just paid.
Now that I have that out of my system. Dragon people, sure, all for it. Tall dragonish race with wings like the DH and tails, ya know, tails that Worgen don’t have(couldn’t resist), a minor breath weapon(their racial), can be warriors, priests, paladins, mages, and warlocks. No new classes need to be invented for them, they use the existing classes. See, it doesn’t take a genius to think this stuff up, even an old Jarhead can do it.
okay. so, since this is wow, we should take the wow lore into this.
a Dragon race would indeed need to have a normal race appearance that they take.
much like Worgen with two forms human on one Worgen on other.
the Dragon Race would also need to be a bit different though. it would also need to work a bit like Druids with the shape shifts. the shape shift would have dragon based attacks and abilites. we have already seen what some of these might look like in the combat dragon mounts used in the dungeon. that might work.
as for class, well, that would be the primary combat for the race.
again, with the race having a combat shapeshift, that would be an alternative combat option. unique to dragons, they can be the first duel class. having Dragon attacks based on their role rather than a specific flight.
we also have those other two dragon minion things. i guess those could be options as either the main combat form or a second/ third form option maybe mixing dragon class abilities active with class ones. that is sort of anthro.
as far as the anthros that “we” all might think of. no. there does not really appear to be any to draw from in wow. Sethrak and so sarock or asf asf
=.= the other lizards those things. those are more what you are looking for. “just add wings” and that gets that visual.
so to that end. we need more wing mog for back slot items. plz thx
I understand your concern but… Remember whose in Charge of WoW now. Retconning dragons into being able to be anthro is a super small and ignorable change, and for the best. Danuser in charge or not.
It’s not about the lore it’s about… expanding gf possibilities as well as player choice…
Pandas i think are one of the greatest additions ever added. I hope they add Saberon, Sethrak as well as other anthro playble races.
This will be a victory for all Human men in azeroth. More Anthro Girlfriends for them!
look. we can put a spore creator for all the lore is concerned with. the point is. dragons take on the form THEY choose. usually that happens to be the existing races.
i don’t see why they couldn’t make up their own if they really wanted to but in terms of art assets and getting them to exist in the game asap, its a whole lot easier to just apply the existing player races into the option pool for their humanoid form that can make use of transmogs, combat animations etc.
maybe they get npc race options too. at least the newer ones, i think blz said they were making all races compatible going foward because they dont know what they may want to add in the future and it happens to be a lot easier to make character models if all the assets can be applied like normal gear. (better than having to have an artist make and update a model with a new item manually that could have been done with one click by any one using the new way)
so anthro dragons. the ones we think of, there is not too much inspiration those options could draw from. maybe. maybe on their personal island that visual choice is more widely adopted and so that could sneak its way in and make sense.
with a world as vast and magical as wow, there are always ways to write your self out of corner. but a lot of players also have expectations and are surprised when he world might not be as simple as it first appeared. plots might not be as clear with new perspective.
so “why not both” is technically an option just like one of them selecting Vulpera as their form is in the realm of possibility
