If MMR is not tightened for rated BGB, I expect a colossal failure and daily forum posts about 0 CR gain

i hope they keep it

i like the super lopsided games that feel unwinnable 30 seconds into game

i like going on a losing streak of 10

i like going on winning streaks of 10

i like that it feels like a coin flip simulator and not like a competitive game

50 bg blitz played less than 5 of them were close.

even watching streamers play it its the same way. one team wins by triple the points of the other team 9/10 times

I keep leaving my blitz’s because 30 seconds into the fight I realize it’s over lol I got no time to heal a bunch of fools. So my rating crashes but I really don’t care. The format has a lot of potential but blizz as usual can’t balance a game. The cc and micro cc is so outlandish it’s practically unplayable

Went from 1894 to 1482 in literally one night.

The problem is that blizz has no resources to balance PvP. So as usual they are going to launch a broken gameplay. Just because something doesnt work or is broken doesn’t stop blizz from launching it. They will bandaid fix it over the entire xpac but it will essentially be hot garbage

havnt managed to lose rating yet even when i lose 200 mmr under cr. Just built diffy.

So glad I’m a stealth class.

You probably break away from the main team fight and actually do something constructive.

“Hey, let’s take a rating system originally designed for chess and apply it to a match with sixteen random people in order to try to gauge their individual skill!”

LOL, That’s a good one!

 oh wait, you’re serious?

^ Leaked transcripts from dev meeting.

Actually, that gives me a great idea for a new format for chess tournaments. Each match will have two sides with eight players each chosen at random and they just take turns after every move.

A team could have a grand master on it but also someone who has never played chess before in some placement games to determine their overall skill potential.

The MMR needs tweaked not tightened too much. If they tighten it too much you won’t see any games. Will have 30+ minutes que and die.

They need to make sure the teams MMR added up as a whole is very close / similar. They also need to evenly distribute classes as best as they can. One team shouldn’t have 2 of any class where the other team has zero. This must be done to ensure it’s more fair.

The current system will never be “fair” and I’m not sure it would even be possible to design a “fair” system that involves sixteen random people.

What it should do once MMR settles in is kind of break up the matches into three tiers of play.

A lot of people are taking a break at the moment. There isnt even an official season going on. No carrot on a stick to chase.

Participation should increase and fill in some mmr gaps once a season starts

I had a nasty WSG the other day where the enemy FC was 18 TIMES Hero, and a few Glad/Legend achievements as well. And not that honor level is the best metric, but he was around 2800.

How do you compete against people who basically spend every waking moment online?

Gee, I wonder who won?

This should mostly just be pre-season MMR shenanigans.

Team game but most matches are decided by which team has the real Druid/Rogue players.

Obviously the team with the very high rated experience players. That was my point.

Not unironically, this guy was a druid.

LOL @ ‘‘team game.’’

If you take that single 2800 Honor Level player and swapped him with one of the players on Snow’s team - the result is Snowcrest saying - ‘‘I had a great game yesterday
’’

You people are hilarious.

I know
your comment about how do you compete against players like that tells me that deep down inside you agree with me. I just find it funny how some people continue to argue against it - simply because I’m not a very nice person. There was no team effort in that game you experienced - it was one man carrying a bunch of below average players. IF that same 2800 Honor Level player had been on YOUR team - you would have won.

There is no debate to be had.

That one 2800 Honor Level player decided the game
It was over before it started.

Well, I emphatically disagree that just because one team has more high achievement players on it that means they will win. Many matches are lost not because the enemy team has better players but because someone on your team just fails to do their job.
