If Midnight doesn't have cross faction group finder it's a failure

They keep trying to distract us with player housing and legion remix but still haven’t announced the most desired feature. The war within was a laughable change because not everyone has a group of 5 to queue every time. They better deliver at gamescom

Distract? Housing is one of the most requested things for the game ever. It’s not a distraction. It’s the star of the show. And remix is just its own little event. They’re talking about it because it’s coming up soon. Of course they haven’t talked about any possible group finder changes. They haven’t even unveiled the expansion yet. While I’m sure cross faction is an exciting prospect for a lot of people it’s hardly a headliner. I’d be surprised if it even comes up at gamescom.

Alliance and Horde have been hand holding in multiple major cities the last few expansions - it is strange that blizzard has not updated the dungeon finder functionality to support cross faction

I think they just need to do away with factions entirely. At this point, the alliance is the superior one and we should just absorb the horde and make every city neutral so that there’s no need for cross faction gameplay anymore and they can remove that from the back end. :dracthyr_hehe_animated: I mean, if we’re all going to be buddy buddy anyway and fight together we might as well live together

They already explained their reasoning on requiring a full premade.

The Faction Divide is a core part of the game, even if they don’t often write the main stories about it anymore.

While some people are fine with cross-faction gameplay, others are vehemently opposed, so Blizzard wants cross-faction queues to be opt-in.

It’s not opt-in if LFD shoves the other faction into your groups.
It is opt-in if a mixed-faction premade queues up for a dungeon with 5 people.

I’d also prefer full cross-faction gameplay at this point, but I feel like their reasoning for not doing it is pretty solid and I don’t expect that they have decided it’s not enough, at least not yet.

raises hand --i dont want to party with filthy stinking horde scum ( the clean and nice smelling ones are ok though )

Group finder and also overworld stuff like cross faction healing outside warmode.

I mean… I want cross-faction stuff as much as anybody, but let’s not bash them giving us housing and legion remix, both of which are things people have wanted for a while now. They aren’t distractions, they’re signs that Blizzard is trying to give us what we want.

But yes, I definitely want to see faction restrictions lifted. Call me crazy, but I think you shouldn’t even get attacked when you enter “enemy” territory anymore. I know people have their gripes with Bel’ameth, but I actually think that’s how all capital cities should be. Where they give you a “you are being watched” debuff & don’t let you use any of the amenities, but also don’t outright attack you. I just think we’re narratively past the stage of murdering each other on sight, no questions asked, for merely setting foot in one another’s space.

If they want it to be opt-in, they should have just given us a check box that lets us choose whether the queue system can add opposite faction players to our group or not. That way, when someone queues, they’ve already indicated whether or not they care.

There are so many weird exceptions to the faction system that I’m not sure it’s all that well thought out at the moment. And there are SO many bugs that I suspect a large factor is whether the game would fall apart if they made other substantial faction changes.

TBF they could also add amenities at this point for most cities, the war is long over and warmode is basically banditry (besides only 2 faction cities have the main amenities people care about, even Bel’ameth didn’t get those, or a portal trainer for that matter)

Related to that last bit: Bliz add a Bel’ameth portal trainer.

I’m of two minds about this… on the one hand, it would be nice to just be able to go anywhere I want and access what everyone else can. On the other… I can see city populations quickly skewing one way or the other, and ending up in a situation where, for instance, Stormwind City is packed with everyone, and Orgrimmar is a ghost town… idk! Just something to think about.

I’m so sick of this Kumbaya stuff. I wanna bust Sylvanas out and burn another tree. Seriously.

Oh my… What an adorable little sociopath

It’d be a nice QoL feature but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’d “make or break it”.

Just makes playing with friends a little easier since everything above group-finder is already faction desegregated.

Then do an opt-in toggle within the LFG menu (which literally everyone will click bc they’ll think it means faster queues) or just reskin the races of teammates from the other faction like they do in the Cata dungeons. There’s no legitimate reason to not have cross-faction queuing.

Group Finder is already cross-faction.

Annoying that we can’t even cross faction timewalk with friends.

Right…?

Least I swore it was or do they mean autogrouping?
