Lets say that you didn’t get a vault anymore, but you could upgrade gear to 304 if you pushed higher ratings. Like 2500 score. So more then KSM requirement, and yeah you would need to grind a bit more valor. But I am just curious how many would still run M+ if you couldn’t get a Mythic level piece for “free” basically from your vault. And it required more time and effort. If they want to slow people down further, they could have some sort of weekly limit like a catalyst where you could upgrade 1 piece to 304 a week, unused weeks would start to pile up as a catch up, so you couldn’t just instantly get everything max level week 1(or I guess in most normal seasons, the valor cap prevents this)

Probably not, as it is now, i only do the absolute minimum amount possible for KSM.

Vault loot has been awful for me so yeah I would still run mythic+.

I don’t pay attention to the vault or even valor, but I collect them as I play. Yes, I would still play M+.
I quit “chasing” the grind a looong time ago. 60% chance of nothing, and even less of a chance of getting something I actually want, nah. I might go into a + without the weekly reward, but it would be like 90% less often. Especially now that I can’t double tap callings…
Yes I would still run them, but mostly because I have a group of friends I play with.
Ofc. I don’t have much time to play, and mostly play with friends for fun. So we don’t care much about gear. If we have more gears to push higher keys - cool, if not no problem keep playing and eventually we will have gears we need. No grinding, no pressure.

I personally think you’re on to something with the charges of upgrading a piece to 304. I’d love to see them replace the vault with a mythic plus version of the dinar.
Time a +20, get a mythic (currently 304) dinar.
When you accumulate five dinar, you can use it on a mythic plus drop to upgrade it to 304.
The current valor system would remain in place as is.
Pvp in bfa had these low drop chance upgrade tokens you could use on your gear to bump them up to your current tier, which sounds similar
Have gear, reach new rating, use token to upgrade gear
I’d still do enough M+ to get the baseline max level gear each season, 298 this season for example.
And I still like pushing IO regardless, every now and again. Just fun seeing huge damage numbers on the meters.

Sorry to disappoint, but many people do in fact like mythic+, and the gearing from it feels quite good for an average player.
Is it maybe too good for that small portion of the playerbase who can completely no-life it and gear out quickly? I dunno, maybe… but I’m pretty sure the game would be better off if we stop trying to design it around that minority.

Upgrading my gear to 304 would be preferable that spinning the roulette wheel on the vault every week
I push way beyond any rewards anyway, purely for my enjoyment and the challenge
