And I used a third-party program to show me information that wouldn’t normally be available. Such as say, revealing the entire map. And I used that third-party program to complete the campaign on hard. I would not be eligible for achievements related to clearing the game on hard.
So why do raiders who use Addons qualify for Ahead of the Curve achievements?

You just listed a third of ladder players, they do that in Starcraft.

Well that’s even more concerning.
This is justified because starcraft has too many buttons and you shouldn’t be expected to know what all of them do
Someone help me out. I can’t decide if “I was playing Starcraft” or “I were playing Starcraft” is the correct grammar. It just doesn’t sound right to say “I was.”
People who don’t understand what addons do, take #3823434.

Its ok, most importanly Blizzard understands what they do and removing them.

Thanks for the reminder that Blizzard is sitting on an untapped goldmine by not giving us a StarCraft MMO though
World of Warcraft addons, are that…ADDONS. They give you the information THE GAME already provides in a more convenient matter.
Seeing through the fog of war in a RTS game like Starcraft is not an addon is a HACK or CHEAT which’s goes against the competitive spirit.
To give some perspective to how asinine is your idea, Blizzard has allowed all this time through their API the creation of addons even improving it all these years for better and more efficient ones.
Not once in the history Blizzard has given support for third party programs to reveal the fog of war and this goes all the way back to Starcraft/BroodWar passing through Warcraft 3 all the way to Starcraft 2.
If you think WoW addons are cheating, then you couldn’t be more wrong.

StarCraft vs Diablo 4 skins. $25 a pop though. Not relevant to discussion I know but still sharing.

I remember booting up StarCraft for the first time as a kid. I had a very old and wonky Macintosh (before they went by Mac) and it had a CD disc caddy that you opened like a pizza box and put the disc into and then the caddy into an external reader like a VHS tape.
It was awful and the game barely ran. But did that menu music go hard and get me hyped up. I could play small maps somewhat but anything bigger destroyed that PC.
Not long later, I got a better Macintosh but not because of good reasons. The previous Mac was provided by my brother-in-law as payment to my parents for a trade. Well he had just taken that computer from his work and his boss found out so he had to rush to get it back and yoinked it from us. He then just lent us another from his work but it wasn’t as big of a deal to get back.
That was an all in one unit and eventually the red coloring went dead on it so the image was awful.
Thanks for reading my pointless story.

Looks sick, but I’m tired of how everything has become macrotransactions instead of microtransacitons
Cuz 25$ for a skin that 1 class can use, like bruh

You can actually very easily download an overlay that shows build order, reminders, and quick counters in SC2 tho
Yeah for real.
Not doing it myself, I don’t play Diablo enough, but they do look cool.
Let’s see…one example someone is cheating…and the other you have people engaging in normal, acceptable behavior. Is this a legit question?
When you open the game menu in wow the third button from the top is “AddOns” which shows that the developers expect you to use them. To make your analogy tight you would have to imagine that when you open the starcraft game menu there was a “reveal entire map” or “addon” button and that the vast majority of players in the game used them.
It has been a while since I played, but I do believe the OP is right.
Because addons don’t show you anything that isn’t already there. If you used a mod to reveal the map in SC, that would be cheating, since that info isn’t available to you, and isn’t meant to be available to you. However, in wow, the addons only display info you already have.
