How far behind will my new character be? Is there a system in place to catch up with everything if I put in enough time?
Genuinely curious as I am not sure I understand how leveling alts etc work.

Not really that far. Might as well do it sooner than later I think you’ll only start to feel behind when the actual season comes out!

Expansion just launched.
There are no catch up mechanisms, nor are they needed.
Actually that is 1/2 fake news.
There will be catch up mechanics as the ability to get Cov exp rises. Blizzard doesnt want you to feel behind, so they are working on a catch up mechanic for the future.
Is your guild pushing for top 100?
If not then you can take about 99% of your anxiety out. This is a fresh xpac you have plenty of time

No, Not really pushing hard or anything I was just curious about things like renown and Soul Ash…etc as I know those are time gated. Was curious if I started a character a week later would I be able to catch up on those types of systems.
This is why I leveled up both of my characters in the first 2/3 days in the expansion. Got their soul ash, unlocked all sanctum things, got them finished for the week. I’m playing 2 classes all expansion, why wait?
