Huh. Interesting. I’ll pay attention today. Maybe it was just a particular NPC ability/debuff that was active at the time?
Quest: “This mob is intended for 3 players.”
Me: it’s dead 5 minutes later “Evidently I count as 3 players.”
This 100% These MM hunter like the OP relied on their pets like BM. Now, they must play smarter and use their stuns and traps that got buffed up in the update.
that is a completely different play style. If you chose lone wolf you chose extra damage over pet utility now they want both. every class has choices like that, pick one thing give up something else. you made you choice live with it.
you have slow, stun, knockback, snare abilities. use them!
another question?
I feel like if they’ve given us
- Concussive Shot
- Scatter Shot / Bursting Shot
- Tar Trap with roots
- Freezing Trap
- Petless Intim
- Binding Shot
- Explosive Trap / Implosive Trap
that they kind of want us to push those buttons on at least one spec.
Well aren’t you just a little ray of dusty sunshine?
I KNEW IT !!!
Yes, and thankfully after 20 years they are finally getting around to it. I welcome it, I look forward to it, I can’t wait to test it!
Here’s what you do, you solo until you run into something you can’t. Then you click the little button to go BM.
It was like that in torghast too
People scared of the talent swap button are weird. You’re a hunter, adapt.
That the enemies are immune to, yeah, very useful advice /s
So much people with galaxy brains giving suggestions, jut like “play another spec”
exactly, every spec should be able to do the same things. I hope a ret pally get a pet soon to help solo
What enemies are immune to stuns?
In the whole of TWW so far I’ve never needed the pet to do the open world content. All the “elite” mobs that have 10-20M health are one-shottable and can never even hit me before they’re dead.
From 11.1 forward, you’ll be able to solo on MM whatever can be soloed on mage.
The game won’t be balanced around “soloing old raids” or any other non-content people are alluding to.
Hunter is already more homogenized than ever - the whole class kit is essentially the same except that survival has harpoon and MM has dead zone. Other than that, it’s just “whoever does more damage is best”. It’s high time they did something different and I cannot wait.
If you can’t manage without the pet as MM you have 2 choices - get better at the spec or go BM
Every spec do have things that they share, because they are one class, so your gotcha here didnt work.
A lot of elites and rares are
Great mate, good for you, not everyone is as good as you, or do care about it, or just simple wanted bcause is faster/easier, you are you and you have your own way of playing.
MM didnt gain any new thing to survive compared to mages
This is not a matter of balance, since putting the pet back doesnt change nothing related to the changed
MM is very different than BM, they are rly not that homogenized other than the necessary by being the same class
Like it will be any different now? i know yall will roll BM if you are behind DPS, and play with the pets nicely.
I do one better, they make their changes and add the pet back as option
it wasn’t a gotcha. more options are good. everyone knows that. imagine the fantasy it’d be to have a lion pet as a ret paladin that helps you out in the world. that’d be sick
ah ok, now we are being disingenuous going for mockery, sure whatever you say
??? how am I being disingenuous lol. do you think there should be less options in the game?
I am sorry these tw@ts are just trolling and mocking you. They don’t understand that after 20 years of having a pet by our side that we do not want to get rid of it to appease a small, loud number of pet hating elitists who demand we change our playstyle.
Nearly everyone I talked to outside of the trollfest that the forums have become, were appalled that blizzard would completely take the pets people have had for years. Not even leaving the option in the talents of continuing to use a pet if and when they want to. Disregarding people who just want to quest or even RP with a pet by their side. Being condescendingly told to change to another spec or class, just so the few loud elitists, who will not allow the idea of leaving a pet option for a class that had them for 20 years.
Why? Maybe they hate pets? Hate casuals? Want others to suffer? Lack empathy towards fellow players? Are control freaks? Maybe all of this?
Some people just want to keep their pets AS MM spec and that is not harming peoples parses in a raid at all. Some people prefer having their pet there to tank for them, as an RP prop or because they named it after a beloved RL pet. Some people have limits that prevent them from being able to kite, trap, etc when out leveling, such as arthritis, poor vision or whatever and want a class they are used to playing and offers the playstyle that works for them. A number of people just feel that a class that had pets for 20 YEARS should not have them ripped away for no real reason other than Blizzard is too cheap or lazy to make a new and separate Ranger class/spec, so they hijack MM and hope no one notices. Did they think after the times in the past that they tried to take pets away from MM that would work?
Ran some delves the past couple days and Misdirection seemed to be working fine.
