I am thinking about boosting a hunter today but I am worried that I may end up with missing gear.
nah when you boost all the stuff you had in your bags gets mailed back to you.
Well I’m talking about a fresh level 1/10 so a level 10 with a level 1 weapon doesn’t seem good. Sure, I can buy from the AH but I shouldn’t have to do that.
quest up to lvl 10 pick your professions then use your boost. do you have a maxed toon already? if so why not use heirlooms instead?
Why would this happen? 
To answer your question, if you boost and are not given the gear you need, there’s nothing there to restore really.
When you boost you are given a chest for each spec that is playable from that toon. everything you had in your inventory as I said before will be mailed back to you.

Well, no. They don’t. There’s an item restore feature that they expect us to use ourselves, to restore any missing items. My point to you, is that if, for some reason, they excluded an item from your boost, there would be nothing for them or you to restore.
Again, why would this happen though? I don’t understand where this idea is coming from. You should get all the gear.

Just to butt in,
If you boost a character, you will be given a full set of equipment. Like usually all slots filled if not bugged.
I heard of some where a trinket or ring was missing.
But all items in your bags will be mailed.
What missing gear?
Basically just slots not filled after boost, I’d guess. Because there were some reports

No. I haven’t used it. I want to but people have said theyre missing bracers
There is a known bug with the new boosts from pre-ordering the expansion. It is supposed to give your character a full set of 424 gear with 424 weapons for each spec. But if you get the bug, some of the 424 items will be missing. No rhyme or reason on which slots it chooses to omit, I have had rings and shoulders be absent on mine. A guildie had gloves and helm missing on theirs.
Blizz knows about it, said a fix will be coming shortly. But they will not be restoring or replacing any of the missing gear. If you used the boost and you’re missing gear, at this moment in time, you’re just out of luck and will have to replace those slots yourself somehow.

When they did they say they were going to fix it? or well when they did addeess it?
Last I heard, on season start. So next week. But they might do it sooner since more reports keep happening about it.
