If healers are removed in PvP what about the healers from PvE?

i dont do mythic plus so i can’t speak on that. but as for pvp i can see how the responsibility of a healer can be overbearing. since its up to them to keep their teammates alive, which can be really stressful. and adding a damage rotation might just be too much.

i would still say the difficulty is about the same, but healers might have a bit harder, looking at it from your perspective.

yeah this was when they reworked paladin and prot paladins inadvertently become the meta tank who has the best off healing in the game.

This is still entirely possible even after nerfs but having a full healer is just much more forgiving in pugs.

This takes very specific set up, coms, and coordination. Its not a norm by any means at all.

However, its a start in the direction Swole is talking about. With the addition of Aug, and buffs (rather than nerfs) to dps to heal and heal to dps conversion along with Healer spec damage boost to be similar to tank/aug while lowering healer spec overall healing capabilities, we can start seeing a shift to a support style game play rather than holy trinity style game play.

Where classes have various support skills that are synergistic with other classes, everyone has a certain level of self sustain, and the overall meta shifts to personal responsibility with added supports for the group. Some classes would bring more utility, like prot paly, aug voker, heal specs versus damage while dps bring more damage and control/cc. But there is no longer a dedicated need for a healer with the right set up and personal responsibly/skill.

That being said, other games have done this and were not as successful as wow. So? /Shrug?

I have only come back to the game to heal my fellow randos in unrated pvp. If I want to kill kill kill, I’ll got play Destiny 2 with my husband. They’ll lose my sub as fast as I can load the website if they get rid of pvp healers.

I wonder how many subs they have lost due to DPS sitting in que to play the game longer than they can actually play it.

healers should be reworked to work like the agumentation evoker

I’m about to check the ptr to see how the spec plays, but i assume that changing healers into something like that where they do slightly less healing, and give buffs to their dps, which would unload some of the stress off healers.

to be honest, destroying the trinity is hard, tanks should dissapear too and give on demand party and near friendly units defensive effects while the supports give more damage and help enhancing self healing.

it would be nearly impossible to balance, but answering your question yeah, healers nor tanks would dissapear but turn into supports, similar to the role of the support characters from lol.

the problem is, that is goint to get out of control, i mean i get the idea but its hard to implement.

this is sort of what i have in mind when i’m imaging a meta shift.

i think its just important for blizzard to figure out whats causing people from wanting to queue healer, and improve the aspects that would entice players to play it. other than just offering more rewards.

although more rewards might be a quick band aid until they can figure out a massive meta shift that will make people want to play healer.

Getting rid of roles is a pretty dumb thing

I think we need to move away from role specific specs and open up healing/tank builds for all spec.

Like take warlock. Let’s say we need a healer I can switch my gear and talent around and create a warlock healing build. My damage would be lower but I will have more team healing. I think it’s alot fun to make different builds and people enjoy it historically.

People loved the warlock tank glyph from mop, people loved glad stance and people loved shockadins.

Disagree with this. Think the role identify is a good thing. Blizz just needs to fix it to where every spec seems pleasurable

There can still be full healing builds like let’s say for priest. You can make a big heal or big shield build that would play like holy/disc does now.

It would just open up more comp possibilities. If I want to play with my rogue and warrior friend, we can all go utility/heal build sacrifice damage and build a viable non healer reliant comp.

if they can’t make healing fun, what makes you think they can make no healers fun?

this is a whole different beast to try and make fun. dampening would still fook that up. I doubt they could pull it off.

but if dps had to deal with dampening with their whole set instead hybrids and healer sets. I would pay to see that

Because self sustain dps are already fun, no need to write up new blueprints.

no music allowed. well if their so fun why did they make healers???

They didnt “make” healers perse, they just copied the old RPG trope every other RPG has done. Healers suck in FFXIV aswell, support sucks in overwatch like it isnt something wow specific.

I do not see any value in maintaining the status quo when it comes to healers gatekeeping content from the majority of players. Its a negative effect on game health and creates the paradigm of which the fun aspects of DPS and tanks are consequentially nerfed for.

So DF is my first expansion since cata pretty much, any reason why queues aren’t available for all rated? Seems like it would fix the long wait times? Too many leeches maybe?
