Might as welll open them all up
It would take a lot of work to make happen… it would likely be an expansion level feature and I don’t think would be worth doing.
Sounds easy, isn’t
On sight blood shed.
Open borders.
Surely theres some steps between those two.
Can’t do that because it would break Chromie Time.
I agree we need to globally unlock everything, including races and classes. Toss cities in too.
Honestly, hot take, but yeah kinda. I believe all cities should get the Bel’ameth treatment, where “enemy” faction players can visit, but they don’t get to use the amenities (mailboxes, vendors, auction houses, banks, etc) and they get a debuff saying they’re under constant supervision. If we’re supposedly “champions of Azeroth,” we should have some level of diplomatic immunity at this point.
Just put chromie time players in their own phase.
at the very least get rid of language barrier
No. There’s still quite a bit of faction tension and even fighting. Had you watched the video, you’d also know that there’s going to be more tension between Alliance and Horde in Silvermoon as things progress.
But hey… why not make another troll thread instead, eh?
Well I’m not a fan of this, I would like some areas of Silvermoon to be delegated as a horde kill ground (say 1-3% of the city). So currently I am in old Silvermoon ganking noobish blood elf NPCs etc as a part of an Assassin RP on my Void Elf Rogue
That really isn’t an if/then question. Of if it is then your conclusion doesn’t feel right to me. Home is home. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I love going back to my original level areas and the original cities that I “grew up” in. I’d like them to remain as home for as long as possible. I hated losing my tree.
Rats! I fell for it. I’m such a noob.
At the moment / the horde lore is very weak.
We have no leader - we are under a council with every faction in their own issues.
I do see a potential for a faction conflict.
With midnight coming - can we kill Lorthamar. Get Allaince into SMC to support Liadrin in winning the war by uniting Amani and blood elves together ?
Then we bring Sylvanas in and maybe start a war again with Tyrande ? I am sure night elv players are still upset for being homeless.
No, bad take
No. Factions are a core part of the game’s identity. We should not be making all cities neutral. Silvermoon shouldn’t even be 2/3rds neutral. Go play another game if you don’t like the game’s literal core foundation, there are plenty of options.
Bring us faction wars back.
I want to kill Jaina, Tyrande and greymane. Maybe then I will consider neutral faction when these three wimps are dead.
Personally I’ve been wanting a sort of… for lack of better term, “Immigration System”.
We’ve had Embassies in Stormwind and Orgrimmar since BfA that at this point serve as little more than Allied Race hubs. The two factions have been at peace with eachother for over 6 years in the lore now (given the Shadowlands to DF time skip and the two expansions since).
At this point, when races such as the Dracthyr, the Earthen (and soon the Haranir) can so easily join both and the racial/cultural tensions between the groups has largely diminished, why not allow players who start on one side to essentially “Apply for citizenship” (likely via earning rep or a questchain - maybe a gold cost as well) to the other side. Maybe then bar you from all capitols and faction-specific appearances/mounts/pets from your original faction as long as you remain a part of your new faction.
We can then simplify the character selection screen to not have 2 buttons for every race available for both sides, instead making which you start with be a on-creation prompt, like choosing to start in legacy questing zones or Exile’s Reach. Choosing any other race will merely be choosing your starting faction, not necessarily your permanent faction.
While I get this might be an unpopular stance, I think its great for opening up player customization in way that reflects the current state of the lore.
We can already fight for the opposing side in battlegrounds when there’s queue imbalance, we’re already dealing with each others leaders on a daily basis, and adventurers from both factions are in guilds together, why not entertain the idea of members of each faction wanting to join the other and live in a culture that they may prefer to their own? We already saw a human worshiping Elune in SoD - this is just an extra step for World Building that let’s players have more freedom.
This is also a solution to this issue that keeps World PvP as something that can happen in towns and cities - Horde will still attack Alliance entering their cities and vice-versa, but now the Horde player helping to defend Orgrimmar might be a Night Elf or Dwarf and the one attacking it, a Troll or Goblin.
Then they have to maintain two versions of each zone. They do that with a few zones but only if they reuse that area.
Another factor is that regardless if you are in Chromie Time or current time you can go to any zone and it will be set at some point in the past. They can’t continually update the entire Azeroth universe to keep it current for people who like to travel around.
No they don’t. Just two versions of the cities.
Well, what about zones where the area around the zone was impacted. You would end up with a city that doesn’t belong in the same time period as the land around it.
