Why cant every race be in either faction?
If we can have players be Tauren rogues because they want to, whats stopping them from being Alliance Tauren rogues? To me, its more believable to swap factions that to try to make void elves Paladins, Forsaken Holy priests, or Blood Elves warriors
Why are we sticking to one lore piece but totally destroying others?
Possibly the crimes we commit during some expansions.

Ff14 is awesome because any race can do any job
And FF14 races are just boring skins with nothing of substance, imo. You may dislike lore and culture, but it’s the main reason I play this game. Once that’s all gone, it ruins the game for me.

Everything in ff is way more customizable than anything in wow is, boring is the last word I’d use to describe it
I like good lore which Warcraft hasn’t been since cata (I said mop but mop is when it went downhill) Also I like cat girls but that’s entirely unrelated to anything in this thread
Customizable doesn’t equate to races being interesting if they are just boring skins, imo.
I have no connection to that race and couldn’t care less. It’s just a skin. And I find that uninteresting, personally.
I play for culture and lore. Some don’t. And that’s okay too.
I just hope they introduce some (not all) classes with class racial skins so it makes sense.
Doesn’t matter how much better the cosmetic part in ff is because the combat is boring and lame.

But thank you for agreeing that ff is much better cosmetically because you aren’t tied down to worldbuilding that gets more and more mediocre every expansion

On topic: i seem to recall seeing a similar thread the other day and agree. It wouldn’t be the first time a character of a race that’s generally on one faction worked alongside the other instead, so the “but muh lore” excuse has long been tossed out the window there.
No. It’s hasn’t. And it shouldn’t be further ruined to destroy what’s left. That is actually the poor excuse: “well, they ruined stuff already, so let’s completely trash it so that everything is irrelevant and bad.”
There are ways to add some more classes to some more races without totally making things stupid. They just need to take those steps to do so. And I advocate for that. If it’s done well, it can be done for some. There is a middle ground.

I love the Lore. My Tauren usually have their hearth set to Thunder Bluff though lately I have tried doing the Tauren quarter of Org. Its close but not the same 
I like FFXIV factions better. Its more of I just fit better here, but we are all on the sam team trying to save this world. Every now and then we have a bit of sport against each other but we dont HATE each other like in WoW
Well… that’s going to change some over time. Cross faction play and cross faction guilds will be great for RP.

I hope they include world play and not just queued dungeons - because I dont do them. I just want this guy to be able to play with my sons Taurens. I would still have to pay for yet another transfer because you cant guild cross servers
B-but… not everyone is the same! THe playable character is special! There is likely a Horde Night Elf! 
I think they eventually will through partying up. I also believe everything should be able to be tagged by both factions, up to 20 people.
If you’re referring to me I never said ff14 didn’t have lore for someone from a role playing server you should learn to read
