I would have rather it been a mount state, honestly. There are times when I wish I could just walk off a cliff and start dragonriding like I do with other mounts. I do not always want to automatically shoot straight up. I do not even notice the free vigor point, to be honest, as I can not remember the last time I ever ran out of vigor.
While I enjoy that Soar is actually functional now, I do wish it was in a state that let it actually gather and race properly. Trying to limit the types of mounts going through holds water until they add dragonriding to most mounts, and opens the floodgates if they ever allow Druids to race.
So once Dracthyr opens to more classes, which it was stated that they will, you think that every class that can be a dracthyr should get the same functionality as druid class flight form simply because they’re a Dracthyr?
Why not, they will all have wings? It would make sense (to me at least). Soar is a racial ability of Dracthyr. So yes, any class added to Dracthyr would get soar.
If you need me to justify why a race ‘deserves’ the same functionality as a class simply because people want it, I don’t know what to tell you.
The fact that you’re asserting that Blizz “hate Dracthyr” in the OP because we just don’t get every functionality of every mount interaction in the game is beyond absurd.
If it were exclusive to evokers, I would sort of understand it, but given that it will be available to a bunch of others as well makes it just water down the impact of class abilities to make it that widespread.
The actual thing that needs an explanation is why anyone thinks they ‘deserve’ anything simply because their character has pixelated wings, lol. Dracthyr already have a suite of what are BY FAR some of the best racials in the game, especially with the recent Soar changes.
The amount of entitlement to things with the underlying reason being “I want” or “I deserve” on these forums never ceases to amaze me.
This is a fantasy role-playing video game. People who choose to play a winged race expect to experience the fantasy of flight that comes with picking that race, there is nothing more to it. The line of thinking that since druids have the ability to instantly enter flight mode that a winged race shouldn’t be able to do the same is silly. I agree that every class/race should have their own unique abilities, but in my opinion instant flight mode absolutely makes sense to be shared with a race that has natural wings built into it.
If I had it my way, Dracthyr would be able to enter “flight mode” and be able to double tap space to fly, activate it mid fall or walk off a cliff and immediately enter soar mode like how you see in the cinematics, but they wouldn’t have ground mount speed while on the ground as they would be just walking on their two feet. This would fulfill the fantasy of freedom of flight that comes with playing a winged race that both druids and Dracthyr could share. (and maybe other winged races if they decide to add more in the future)
People aren’t demanding or entitled when they provide feedback for what they would like to see in the game. I’m sure you have features that you think could improve the enjoyment of the game if they were added and I’m sure you would feel disheartened if someone just called you entitled for asking for that.
There’s a decided difference between “I want”, “I would like”, and “if someone else gets this, I deserve it too”, or “if I can’t have this, I riot”, which is literally in the title of this post.
Again, I’m not disagreeing with anyone doing this. This post is not made in that tone, it’s saying that he should have a racial because another CLASS can do something"
What is so special about druids they are the only one worthy in your opinion? You completely deflected the question and say I don’t know what to tell you. Because you have exactly 0 reasons why “class should be able to do this but not race”. You don’t have a reason, at all, you are just mad I’m making the case that they should. Your contribution to this topic is exactly bunk.
And by riot, as I outlined in the original topic, I meant write forum posts. Whatever hyperbolic intention you think I made with the title, I can actually point to my words and clearly show my intentions was to start a topic of conversation.
You have an opinion that druids are the only ones who should have it. I asked you to clarify why, and you couldn’t do much more than moan that the topic even exists. You really have nothing to say, so you just whine?
