Undertaking one of these new classes as a Dracthyr will allow you to choose between fighting as a Dracthyr or fighting in Visage form by activating Visage, which switches you between forms. You can additionally choose to toggle on Chosen Identity, which will automatically shift you into Dracthyr form when entering combat and Visage form when leaving combat.
It’s only fair now there’s unfair bias between a worgen and a dracthyr. I was against it but this is an insult to worgen enjoyers. Let them get their human forms.
I appreciate it when we get options, I play Worgen characters…and I don’t want this. It doesn’t fit the immersive aspect of it being a curse to allow the player to have that added level of control. Otherwise, it’s just not a curse, is it?
When we get angry or excited for battle, we get gnarly claws and fangs. It’s part of the race’s charm.
Why would it matter if other people are able to do something different? Does it diminish your ability to play your character the same way you have in the past?
Sounds a lot like the Soar ability and DHs not having equal parity. Kinda sucks huh? Dracthyr getting things other classes should’ve had, but devs won’t go back and make the changes to the former.
and its for the other classes op fogot to put this also
Dracthyr Evokers will continue to use Dracthyr form during combat, as many of their abilities emphasize their draconic nature. With the addition of new classes to Dracthyr, we are making some further adjustments to their racials.
Hell I’m not even happy about dracthyr getting this (I don’t care about the whiners, it’s a small vocal minority on the forum and nothing else); it made perfect sense that visage dampens your powers, it’s like explicit lore for how dragons can stay hidden in plain sight even when surrounded by mages if they tweak their visage to be more subtle.
It fits with Turalyon having a slight panic attack at Shaw at the idea that there’s no known way to detect draconic visages if the dragon in question doesn’t deliberately keep draconic features in visage in his stay awhile just before the start of DF.
Facts. Pluse we already have a “Control the beast” option to turn into a Human after we shapeshift (Druid obviously). Not sure very many people want to remain worgen, but I am not inclined to agree with the OP. Choices are great, and as long as it is a toggle, I don’t care.
Why do people defend the game’s lore when it’s threatened by unnecessary ret-conning? Because they care about the story in a role-playing game…if you can imagine that.
The appeal of playing a Worgen is based almost entirely on the fact that they’re a barely contained rage-monster. Why would anyone wish to tame such a fun role to play?
If you want to play a worgen and fight in your human form then the human race is literally right there for you. The main difference between worgen/human and dracthyr and their visage form is transmog and customizations. A worgens human form is literally just a human while a dracthyrs visage form has unique customizations and access to full transmog instead of the very few options dracthyr get.
I will say this all day every day, especially as someone that greatly enjoys worgen and would be a worgen shaman in a heartbeat, if you want to be a worgen and fight in your human form; you picked the wrong race and should have just picked human.
I agree with this. There are a lot of similar issues coming up with the introduction to dracthyr.
Visage, worgen forms. Just let people play how they want. It’s that simple.
transmogs in dragon form and the barbershop armor system dracthyr has added to druid forms.
Human horde mercs have been requested for a while and the factions trading Alteraci humans for an orc clan has been a semi-joke proposal for well over a decade now. There’s a subset of players who would probably be race swapping immediately if a subset of humans was in the horde. (often belves although many seemed happy with straight-backed orcs).
Lets not, I think it’s nice Dracthyr are getting stuff of their own and the last thing thing this game needs is more homogenization than it already has.
