If Cata replaces WoTLK servers

Ok so you’re doing the non-endgame content in wrath? Why not play Classic Era?

Lock exp at 80, don’t wear any Cata gear, and turn off the ICC buff. Congratulations, your endgame state is Wrath

Not exclusive to Wrath, we already have Vanilla Era for that

Again, if you’re seriously arguing that locking your xp at 80 on a cata server is the same thing as being on a wrath era server, there’s nothing I can do to help you and this conversation will go nowhere.

Uh, yeah, I play on Classic era as a main, no regrets.

Great so you have a version you enjoy.

Sounds like you’re the one that needs help if you honestly think there’s actually a tangible difference in most classes between level 80 Wrath and level 80 Cata

Sure, but soon the Wrath-passionate will not, which is the point of this topic. I’m arguing in their defense. I’m not even a Wrath fan and still I can understand the elementary logic neccessary to see the point.

So then why are you arguing with me? I’ve literally said multiple times I’m not against Wrath Era servers, I’m trying to understand OP’s logic for why they want Wrath Era servers

They literally changed all the talent trees, and that’s something that isn’t optional.

You need to study up on Cataclysm, because the discussion is Cataclysm, not what they did in Wrath.

By rolling most of the bland “+1% x stat” talents into each other so that each talent is an actual impactful choice, and by the end levels (aka 80) are virtually indistinguishable from Wrath talents, save for how many of them there are

What are you even talking about? The whole reason this post exists is because the OP doesn’t want to be on a Cataclysm server!

Golly gee what does it take to get some common sense in this discussions lol

The WoTLK server wasn’t started as a stand alone server though, it was started as a progression server following TBC. If they were to announce a static Wrath server it would be fresh, you’d still lose your progression character and only people planning on staying would be there.

That being the case would you be happy with a Wrath fresh server started under the assumption that no progression will occur? Now compare the people who would start all over to the people who would move on. Those numbers are probably pretty different from the current end game wrath player numbers which is a mix of first timers, returners, and both potentially split between stay and go.

“Meh the changes aren’t a big deal, Wrath players can just pretend like all the Cata changes aren’t there and ignore all the completely un-changeable elements of the old world that are completely changed in Cata and boom, it’s like they’re still on a Wrath server! They can also just form a guild and raid ICC as endgame content on a server made up of 99% lvl 85s and raid progression in Hard Mode ICC! Yeah! Everybody does that! Easy!”

I agree, you are making a clown of yourself. I think we’re done here…

You didnt say anything when they moved to TBC yet they changed the trees and classes there too.
Can’t you see the irony here? Its literally just “I hate cata”

No I thought there should have been TBC era servers too. There should be at least 1 era server for every major expansion they opt to do a classic server for.

Show me the forum post where you complained

What about those who wanted to just do BC? We got screwed because of Wrath. So enjoy Cata now taking over your Wrath servers like Wrath did for BC.

I have no clue why though they didn’t keep a couple of the BC servers as is. There was absolutely no reason to remove them all.

There is not reason to remove them forever. However, there is a reason to not release Era servers just right when the following expansion is releasing. It didn’t work well for Classic → TBC and Blizzard is well aware of this.
That said, down the line, at some point they will add some fresh Wrath (or TBC) server and I’m pretty sure about that.

I’m not a TBC player so I’m not saying I championed it on the forums (and why does that matter). I’m just sharing my opinion with you on the subject.

I have what I want, a vanilla era server. I think others should have what they want too.
