Imagine if Blizzard bought the rights to some game out there, then decided to re-do it with the same content and everything, but make it as an MMORPG (if it isn’t already) and have a WoW look and feel. Any games apply.
Imagine if Blizzard bought the rights to Asheron’s Call, a Microsoft/Turbine/WB title, and made it feel like you were playing a WoW-type expansion…yet you were playing with races, classes, and content specific to Asheron’s Call.
Which games would you like to see this applied to?
I would like to see a pokemon version. But Like the Mystery Dungeon game.
Main points would be no trainers. The Players would get to play as the pokemon. (limited to the starters and a few others. maybe have allied race type pokemon added later)
You could level up, learn attacks and pick your abilities (and like the talent tree you could swap your attack load out at a rest area)
The NPCs would also be pokemon.
Dungeon Bosses could be any number of evolved pokemon. maybe even corrupted pokemon.
Raid boss would be legendary Pokemon.
There is so much that could be done with that version.
For a product for Blizzard to WoW-ify I recommend Lyrical… Wait did you just say Game!?! Well we could use Lyrical Nanoha A’s Portable… Did you just say make the Game into an MMORPG!?!
Eh… we could have Yuri, the Materials(Dearche, Stern and Levi) and the Gears of Destiny(Kyrie and Amitie) deal with a Zandalar/Silithus ripoff on the Planet Eltria(a Desert World with Dinos and Dragons resembling Nozdormu) I suppose…
Complete with rip-offs of Zul, Murozond/Nozdormu, Emperor Korthek, Yazma, Grand Ma’da Ateena and G’huun all brought into existence due to Levi leaving one of the souvenirs from her trip to Midchilda in one of the many Dungeons’ laboratories(preferably a Bloody Dagger that the “Little Crow” Hayate gave to Dearche that Dearche wanted Levi to get rid of on account of coming from the hated “Crow”).
Still sounds better as an Anime based on WoW but if it simply must be an MMO…
It’s one of those rare fighting games that doesn’t use an HP gauge instead it determines how much damage you take based on the strike of a weapon against a body part. If you were to do a light swing at the opponent’s arm it takes light damage whereas a heavy swing of a sledgehammer would disable it. Dodging and Parry play a huge role in your defenses as well as weapon size, speed, and the strength of both you and your opponent.
You can’t just mash buttons either, a fluid rotation serves better in both performance and effective damage. Best of all, a heavy strike to the Head or Torso can be instant death, but not always depending on the hit itself and where it landed. It also penalizes you for doing dishonorable strikes like killing someone from behind.
