If blizzard won't make RP-PvP realms -

Should we attempt to designate one our selves? Obviously this wouldn’t be up to me. I’m not important enough but I really feel like if they aren’t going to make one we should show them a lesson by all agreeing on one PvP server to be our RP-PvP server.

My god finally a thread that isn’t about layering.

As someone who doesn’t RP I will say I hope you guys do get your RP PVP server…if not, then by all means, work out something on the forums and “hijack” a normal pvp server. I hope that you don’t run into trolls trying to ruin your legitimate way to play the game (even if I don’t actually participate myself).

I figure if they don’t then a PvP server will become the unofficial RP-PvP one.

Though people can’t really organize that until we know the server list.

I still hope they reconsider before launch though. It would be a lot better just to have a RP-PvP server than go through all the problems of coordinating an unofficial one.

We’re going to run into trolls wether the server is designated for RP or not. It really wouldn’t be anything the community isn’t used to. Honestly RP-PvPers probably have much thicker skin than the average PvPer.

That wouldn’t surprise me Shalarian. Like I said, I hope you guys get your official RP PVP server. IDK if Blizzard will back off on their last statement about it, but I do think you guys have a legitimate way to play the game and hope Blizzard will allow it before Classic launches.

still effing pisses me off that literally there’s no difference in the server tech between an RP-PvP realm and PvP realm… it’s literally name sake alone. It should not require any damn effort on their end to do this. They’re just being stubborn about it and i don’t effing understand why

Just one RPPVP server will be packed with players.

Aw OP I think you’re important enough. You can get it going!

With my history, it would be a really bad idea

Well, do you have verifiable proof there is enough interest for an RP-PvP server? I’m not talking telling me to go look at forum posts and surf the entire internet until I can find a thousand people. Because since the announcemenet of no RP-PvP, I’ve seen maybe 1-1.5 thousand people at most asking/complaining/crying about it. And that’s certainly not enough for an active community. Say you have 10,000 total people playing, you may have 3-4k active at one time, as an example.

Yes, we definitely should do that.

All we need is for the RP-PVP community to designate a server and call it (internally albeit) the new RP-PVP server.

RP-PVP veterans can handle it, and we’ll make it fun. Of course we all hope for a designated server but if that doesn’t happen you people know what to do.

If you people keep suggesting just throwing your hands up in defeat and going to a server to ‘designate’ RPPVP then all these threads that are 1,000-,1600+ posts are for naught.

Let’s wait for a definitive answer instead of giving up at the gate.

That usually results in RP events taking place in Contested zones with large numbers of players.

Unless the trolls are able to mount an actual raid it typically ends with a lone troublemaker trying to annoy players until they are visited by a friendly enforcer from the other faction.

Since Blizzard said there will be name reservations prior to Classic Launch we will probably get to see the server lists or have a general idea and can all agree on Forums and swarm it on launch day.

Isn’t RP-PvP like the most under-performing server, population-wise? That could be why, given the scuttlebutt about Blizz concerns of dead/low-pop servers months after launch.

You’ve surely been reading the forum long enough to know there is an existing thread on the subject, where it has been explained at length why it is a bad idea to compromise and that subterfuge like this is not helping the cause.

It ended up reducing in population because our server (Emerald Dream) was damned by it’s own success. RP-PvP had made the server so reknowned for PvP that non RPers flocked from every corner to invade the server. And then the actual RP-PvPers left.

Which certainly we could see a repeat of but there’s alot more motivation behind WoW classic. But seriously, no. If anything RP-PvP was damned by it’s massive success.

If layering can have 8923409 threads per hour then I feel like we should be fine with a couple on RP-PvP servers.

I’m sorry but who are you? Oh, no one.

You literally posted in the main thread a number of times earlier today.

Don’t be rude.
