Lets assume one day that blizzard came out with an expansion that which all characters were airborne at all times and could not walk on the ground cause of some mysterious dangers magic or something. You had to complete a rep grind to unlock ground walking and flying speed was reduced to 100%. Would people be upset over not being able to fly as fast or cause they can’t walk on the ground?

Stop being lazy and unlock pathfinder.
The only good argument is that all of path should be available ftom the start.

If people spent even half the time trying to unlock pathfinding as they did complaining about it they would learn it’s not that hard to unlock.
all you need to do is just play the game and you will unlock it in like 1 month of decent play doing dailys and world quests you know the stuff you do already.

So, everything we need to interact with out also be airborne? So it would be no different than what we have now, except using awful 3D movement like if we were under water?

All you have to do is play the game EXACTLY like youre told and you get pathfinder.
if youre like me and like to play as long as anyone else but dont like all the rep grinding, youre screwed

That sounds like fun. I love Vashj’ir.
My only concern would the location/directions stuff. There are a lot of inaccurate quest markers, quest arrows and quest areas in Vahsj’ir.

Okay.
Well considering how flying works in this game, i don’t think i’m gonna be that upset with it. Especially if this expansion you talk about will be designed around flying in mind where the enemies will be up in the air and your AoE’s will work in a third dimension. I don’t think they will design an Airborne only expansion without a total redesign on essentially everything.
But to paraphrase and parrot what other people are saying, pathfinder isn’t that hard to unlock. It’s just tedious, and even then it’s not that painful. You will unlock it 6 weeks tops just by playing casually and doing what the achievements told you to do.
Speak for yourself, its one of the best zones in the game.
