I know I would. I’d transfer off of my very high population realm - Whitemane - and into a low or medium population realm. I’m sure I am not alone.
i’m sure people would, but what if you couldn’t get the name you want
I’m okay with that.
Yes.
./10char
I got 2 level 12 characters already just go level again on another server no need for transfer. Everyone acting like there 60 already. Its a marathon not a sprint. I was supposed to play whitemane as well not going to happen with 17k people ques.
What server are you on now?
I would take it in a second!
Yes. Especially if it was from Grob to DD lol.
This is one of the primary reasons people aren’t leaving realms. It’s part of what’s destroying launch. There have been realms, even post launch, that we could move to. Few want to because “my name isn’t available”.
I actually believe that Blizzard’s crime wasn’t not capping realms, but allowing us to reserve names. By reserving names, we feel entitled to them. It makes it 10x harder to convince us to move to realms where we don’t have that name. We were allowed to reserve our name, what atrocity are you asking of us when we have to give it up just because “your hardware isn’t up to par”?
They suckered us into buying subs 2 weeks early, but made only 4 PVP servers. Look at the list now. Its over 4x that number. It was a joke. The least they can do is open a real number of new servers and let us all realm transfers off the high pop servers to be with our friends. We need the community to self-sort, but Blizz are making it socially impossible with trickling out servers and no ability to migrate.
No, they didn’t. Blizzard acted according to what they were expecting. They may have been wrong, but that doesn’t mean they “suckered” you. They were just wrong.
In all of history they have only ever opened transfers to low pop realms from high pop realms. They have never initiated those to quell queues on high pop realms. They have always believed that re-rolling is the answer to a realm that’s too populated. This remains true now, and was always true.
Any ability of the community to self sort would vanish, with multiple servers having parts of it’s community collapse, if we opened free realm transfer to anywhere at this point.
Everyone but them knew 4 PVP servers was far too few and the few they added were high to full going into the weekend. Gross incompetence.
High to low, yes exactly. Do it now.
The community could finally self sort. It’s impossible right now with friends spread across both servers and levels. These servers are 2 days old, the emergent community that has formed pales in comparison to what people are trying to form despite the obstacles presented by the situation.
We have no low pop servers though. Where to we open transfers to?
I’m not saying the situation is good, I’m just saying that it’s not as simple as some are saying.
Yes exactly we need more realms to have a place to migrate to. I have friends across 3 realms right now due to queues. Some of my friends left Herod today to join our other friends on Kromcrush only to hit 2 hour queues and fall behind again. Our group’s situation is far from unique. Read these forums. Look at the queue numbers.
I agree, new realms are the only real answer. Transfers to them would help. Locking them from new characters so that only transfers exist would help more.
I’m just saying that they can’t fix the realms themselves. Lots of people refuse to leave, and think they should just “fix the realms”. That’s not meaningfully useful. New realms don’t mean much when so many refuse to leave their current realm.
