If Blizzard added Red Eredar customization

And had a short quest of Velen accepting them in and allowing monitored and controlled Warlock stuff (as the Legion is no more) then a lot of the Lore fans would be more willing to stomach this.

Lightforged need a bit more work, as do the Mag’har.

Red is better.

I can totally see Velen being someone who would forgive and try to bring the now leaderless Eredar to his fold. I can also see a majority of the other Draenei being against it. But Velen would be all “No, we do it my way” despite objections (which definitely should be an option, if they do it in a quest). You should basically be able to say “Okay, Velen, have it your way, but when it blows up in your face, it’s all on you.”

Draenei dont need anything to explain them being warlocks imo.
Warlocks just kinda do what they do regardless of what their society thinks of it.
And as we know, ederdar are just as likely to turn to those powers as anyone else is.
Same goes for maghar.

Its only lightforged i take issue with as theyre not a race but a faction of those most dedicated to the light. Its beyond crazy that one would turn to fel and void magic while having that same dedication.

I would love it if blizzard had made it make sense, but i understand that they couldnt just leave out a single race, and they couldnt make the combo work. So we just sorta have to deal with it.

They kinda do since there has been no Draenei Warlocks due to the stigma in their society and those that did go Warlock ended up with the Legion and turning Red.

None that we have seen so far but warlocks do tend to operate in secret. Especially when their society is against it.

To me its easy to imagine wanting to use warlock magics while not fighting for the legion. The legion are kinda crazy.
In legion, warlocks had their orderhall fighting against the legion so its not like the class sides with them.

No work needs to be done for it to already fly with the lore, but I’ll take red customizations.

I sure don’t remember having to get king Wrynn’s or Thrall’s personal approval back in Classic, way before the more tolerant approach the factions have of locks nowadays.

Then that should be shown, not just told or left to the player headcanon. Blizzard has an easy way to explain and show this happening through the well-known Red Eredar Warlocks and Velen willing to forgive and welcome them back into the fold. Velen also is more open to such things after the Legion fell and his friendship with Illidan.

They haven’t been hanging out in the cleft or catacombs for the scenic view. If you’re new to the game, I can forgive this, but back when we had warlock trainers, it’s pretty explicit to anyone with the ability to think that it’s an underground kind of deal, even before you read the quest texts.

How could anyone be against this?

Sir Zeliek is still a master of the light even in undeath and then you have a holy Nathrezim, and undead disc/holy priests, LF shadow priests, LF DKs, no work needed.

Mag’har simply didn’t drink Daddy Manny’s blood. You don’t need to drink a pit lord’s blood to be able to be a warlock.

Lrn2lore.

I’ll explain it again why “red eredar” aka man’ari are never gonna happen.
Man’ari are treated as an “race” by the game, similar how mag’har orc and green orc are different races. Yeah they’re both orcs, one of them is still pure and the other is green because of the fel magic corruption. Same happens with draenei, they’re the “mag’har” (uncorrupted) and the man’ari are the green orcs (corrupted).
Adding the man’ari as customization is the equivalent of adding the green skin to mag’har warlocks.

They’re closer to the fel-orcs, if anything. The red ones.

No, I don’t think so. Fel orcs drank the blood of a demon, man’ari never did such a thing.

Pretty sure Sargeras directly infusing you with fel energies would be far more potent.

You don’t need to drink demon blood to turn green…

We definitely needed another Draenei warlock post.
More options are good though.

Is this presented as unreasonable?
Because in the context of either race getting warlocks, those accompanying events actually complement it?

Yes, yes it is.
