If auto-silence is in classic i wont be buying it

Might wanna differentiate between instance and groups formed with your friends.
I believe them having seperate labels does that and there only being two ways to form groups in wow instance ques. Bg’s, lfr, and lfd are all instance ques.
Grouping with friends is manual.
Seriously am I explaining this right now to mr. QoL himself and the classic community because ya all don’t know the difference? I thought this was known?

Please explain to me why both lists specifically call out instanced groups and groups formed with friends.
If you need any more explanation I suggest logging in and creating a group and then queuing up for an instance group to see the difference.
Heck I thought that was obvious to classic players. Guess not…
Oh and if you really want to see how it works. Log in. Be a pest(I’m sure you will do fine)in chat. Get squelched than see what kinda communication is actually limited while squelched. Report back with your findings. Lol
If you need some reports (you won’t just be yourself) hmu. I’ll log in and help you out if you’re really being a pest. Lol

Click the link and swipe from the right. Read the rest of it. Lol

Either way people are still reacting to something they know very little about. That is War of the Worlds level of mass panic.
No not the movies either kids. Way back in the day they used to read stories on the radio. War of the worlds was read and people thought it was really happening and panicked because they reacted without all if the facts…
Case in point right here.

Both are “instance” groups and both use party chat or raid chat.

The difference is that in a manually formed group with your friends, you can still whisper to your friends, even if you cannot use party chat or raid chat.

Well apparently it’s different or they wouldn’t have bothered saying so or having different set of rules listed to begin with. Really this is painfully crystal clear…

Like I said open that link to CS stud posted and swipe from right to left. You can use party/raid when grouped with friends.
Now that does make me ask the questions is that only full groups of friends or dies that just mean manually formed groups?

Either way. I was trying to shed some light on how they actually did work and what the restrictions are because up until I posted that link most here clearly were arguing from an uninformed position to say the least.
I don’t see any of the proponents of removing the squelch researching anything. They are just running with claims that have no way of validation. Lol

Under the old system, one person could easily harass many for quite a while before any action was taken.

With right click reporting and squelching, it takes many people to harass one.

I think this alone makes the new system objectively better. I’d prefer that the report would summon a live GM in a timely fashion, but I don’t think Blizz is going to go for that. Abuses are going to happen with either system and that sucks, but I think the new system will do the greatest amount of good for the most people.

it says the same thing though, it combined more than one thing too.

They don’t want to talk about how that might make this ya know. Not the issue it’s being exaggerated into. Lol
Hilarious. Now they want to argue about how it affects trade chat. The place it has the real affect on and was meant to. Lol
So we are right back to “we want to be able to say what we want in chat”.
Which was all this was about to begin with.
It’s like they are chasing their tail but won’t admit they’re chasing their tail. Lol
Looks like some if the alts cleared out though…

It’s because he’s lying and has to make up more and more extreme lies once the previous ones are dealt with.

So you won’t play it full stop because of one thing and one that doesn’t actually affect the game itself? Dude, no way I’d gimp myself like that.

Blizzard will not come out with a hard and fast list of what’s actionable because they’re not stupid. They know people will try to rules-lawyer the system.

There’s a whole lot of people sounding like the kindergardener trying to get the teacher to pin exactly when it’s okay to go in the art supply closet without permission.

IMHO, r-click/ignore is completely sufficient. No GM involvement necessary. It’s easy, quick, and they stay muted until you manually remove them.

Except that being reported and auto-squelched doesn’t actually require that you “said” anything that is actually a violation. One example given is the guy who gets his buddies to report the other enchanter who charges less for their services than he wants to. Poor guy is just trying to make a little gold and gets silenced because he has lower prices.

The system is open to abuse, it is ridiculous in this day and age to assume it won’t actually be abused. Leave the judiciary and punitive action to Blizzard, not the local lynch mob…

It’s been five years since this system has been implemented, don’t you guys think that this would have come up before?

Thanks. I can’t process information unless it’s bolded

In this day and age I expect abuse of a system to be cracked down on.

Please tell me you’re joking. On just these forums there are multiple threads about flagging abuse with a crack down coming “soon”…

Its like you just discovered the internet or something

and you have Blizzard state that they will take action.

His opinions change given what time of day it is. He doesn’t trust blizzard to have the competence to ban people off of player reports, but he believes they have the competence to find out if people are abusing the system. He flip flops a lot

Which means what exactly? They can’t even effectively moderate their own forums, much less in game traffic.

Gnocci wants an in game tool that players can use to silence others via mass reporting because Blizz is too slow to act on right click reports. While at the same time proclaiming faith in Blizz to crack down on the abuse this system is obviously vulnerable to. Its hilariously self-contradictory.

Its so ridiculous its funny. My 3 year old could see the blatant hypocrisy in his posts.

Just because you don’t agree with how they moderate does not mean they aren’t doing it, and of course people will abuse anything, but Blizzard also will and does punish those that do.
