If Arthas was able to revive powerful beings such as

Sindragosa, on top of resurrecting what used to be devout followers of the Light, with relative ease…

Why did he not just resurrect Galakrond? Would it have just been too easy for him to annihilate Azeroth or something? I don’t get it. He resurrects a giant Dragon as a Wyrm like it’s nothing. Surely he can spare some of his incredible power to resurrect the mountainous proto-dragon?

He tried to resurrect Galakrond, but we stopped him in a quest.

Oh did he? I truly must’ve missed that part. o:

Or forgotten it, for that matter. Been sooo long since I leveled in Wrath zones.

He tried to by sending out a force led by one of his necromancers. First they had to actually unearth Galakrond’s bones, hence the huge excavation site. But obviously that plan was thwarted by us.

That’s the dig site north of Wyrmrest in Dragonblight. We stop his forces with the help of the Red Dragonflight.

See, I remember it looking like his bones were being unearthed, or was unearthed. It looked to me personally like there was enough for him to just unburrow himself, much like Sindragosa had done under many layers of thick ice. It just occurred to me as a thought as to why he never showed up to breathe undeath in to Galakrond’s bones.

Not many people are aware, but Arthas was soulstoned–and is currently buried in Stormwind Cemetary, the grave with the L for Lordaeron symbol on it.

Soon he will reawaken…

Mm who knows. Maybe there was some reason why he didn’t, but I think it’s just because he couldn’t be allowed in the story to actually resurrect Galakrond. If he did we most likely would have lost the war.

I’d imagine that raising Galakrond would be exponentially more difficult on account of both how powerful he was and how long he had been dead. As a comparison, in the DK quest line the Deathlord raises the dead matriarch of the storm dragons by their own power. In order to raise their mount, a long dead red dragon, they had to gather the remnants of its essence before they could raise it.

I’d imagine Deathwing would’ve been incredibly angry that his was not the first back that was trampled upon if Galakrond was resurrected and we had to destroy him.

Hm…

So Galakrond’s considerable essence could be scattered to the four winds of Azeroth by this point in time. I can see that. One would think he’d of been prepared with Galakrond to resurrect him at the most earliest convenience. At least, i’d of hoped he was. Such a force at his disposal would demand the sacrifice of every other endeavor in my eyes.

But then on the flipside, we know you can break the hold of the Lich King’s grasp. Perhaps at the same time he feared Galakrond could prove to be a more powerful force than is beyond his control?

As the current Lich King said: “Death is for the living. It has no power over the damned.”

My fantastical idea about ‘Return to Northrend’ might not be so fantastical then is what you’re saying.
