Not a single person with a modicum of arena experience at a relevant level would ever sit around and try to pretend like Rank 1’s aren’t good at the game.
The transparency of this post & it’s clear origin of frustration with your personal lack of accomplishment is like a day one human psych lesson.
When people aren’t as good as they would like to be at something they start rambling about how everyone that is better than them is only good because of this funny trick they play that allows them to be good. It’s ego protection and is like the most common thing human beings do when faced with the reality that they aren’t really that good at something they’ve latched their identity on to.

You are a “rank 1” if you have a rank 1 title. There’s no real ideology around it. There is a huge gap between some r1’s and tournament players though, and a huge gap between other r1’s just based off the comp they played to get it. Doesn’t change anything though.
Every single season I’ve followed this game, people try to diminish the title off arbitrary things. If I had a dollar for every time I heard “this is the most meaningless r1 ever”…
