Obviously many many people want to get into the classic beta, and watching streams can sometimes only make it worse as we have seen on the forums the past couple days with people getting very mad at streamer privilege. So to solve this, what if blizzard opened up a 2nd beta realm where they can use it to test different population amounts or maybe a different way of implementing layering to prevent mining exploits from swapping layers. I am sure there are other things that can also be tested only by making a 2nd realm that can be used to compare with each other. Blizzard has millions of passionate players that want to help bring back classic, and finding bugs is a great way to allow people to feel like they were a part of the process.
good idea, not sure if it’s the best idea but it’s a good one.
I’d recommend tranquilizers for all accounts that resubbed within the last 45 days.
Or they could just continue to ignore all the pissing and moaning for the next three months.
Lets be honest. All these people crying about “streamer privilege” are still going to be there on launch day. Blizzard is losing nothing by just ignoring them.
I didn’t bother to resub knew that would keep my stress level down no chance to get into beta so no worries.
Support. pls blizzo
What if people just learned to be patient adults and enjoy the game for even coming back? Why does it all have to be a compromise because people are inpatient and complain.
This is what they are most likely to do, but I think the option for extra testing to make the game the best it can be is not a bad one. If people want to help improve the game blizz should use that to their advantage.
We are only about 90 days from release. I can’t imagine Classic not having an open beta/PTR before release. Just hang tight. Everyone who wants to will be able to play in a few weeks.
I think everyone just needs to wait man lol. This is getting insane. Go play something else until August. People are getting way too upset about this.
I’ve even considered playing retail tbh, just as a final goodbye to my characters I have adventured with for so many years. I will most likely never play them again. Which is kind of sad to think about But playing retail is definitely something I’ve considered. It’s the Classic life after this. They would have to make a pretty amazing expansion for me to continue to play retail after Classic.
too bad I don’t own BFA and don’t really want to drop the cash for a game I know I’m not going to like as much
I think it’s s very likely that there will be more invite “waves” at later beta stages.
By the end they may even make short “open beta” (i.e. all subs) to test it as close as possible to launch conditions.
Blizzard has never had an open beta. MoP required a 12 month sub agreement.
Good idea, good idea… or, and just hear me out, maybe Blizzard should instead start moderating the whiners who make threads and posts just to throw tantrums that they didnt get in to the first wave of a beta for a 15 year old game? Threads and posts that are not productive or contributing to actual “Classic Discussion”. Maybe even take a page from classic and start throwing out excessive punishments like they use to instead of the three day slaps on the wrists. Really relive that vanilla era experience with 6-12 month suspensions and maybe even some permas. Really get into the spirit of the olden days
In all seriousness though, the solution to the tantrum throwing is absolutely not buckling and rewarding such behaviour. If it were me, id say that the excessive tantrum throwers should be blacklisted from having a chance to get into beta and that those who have been positive, friendly, constructive, and civil be be considered for future waves. There are a lot of good eggs on this sub forum, lot of vocal rotten ones too though
I totally agree with everything you said, I just also think that generally tantrums are only thrown when someone feels wronged and I think reaching out to those people to either solve a miscommunication or to hear them out is not a bad thing to do (from a business perspective). But yeah most of the people posting huge complaining threads talking trash on other people for getting in is not productive, there just isn’t a need for it
While I agree with your post for the most part; that section would be a little too open ended in my opinion. I try to stay constructive, but some of my replies may not come off as “positive”. And you expect me to be “friendly” with a dirty horde? PFFTTTT! I do agree completely with the civil/constructive part. We can agree/disagree/debate without losing basic respect between gamers!
Basing punishment on perspective, bias, or other arbitrary criteria would be too broad a brush. A difference of opinion is no excuse to lose our cool or get hostile… there is no excuse for that.
I may argue from the unpopular side on one topic, but be in your corner completely on another… may even change my mind in the same thread, but we’re all here to talk about the game we love.
The excessive spamming, obvious trolling, name calling, outright hostility, and personal attacks should be dealt with by the uber epic banhammer of WTFBBQHAXXPWND intensity.
hopes I don’t incur the wrath of colored text for a little taunting here and there
I think it’s okay to express frustration when you feel like you have been wronged. I believe the issue becomes with how you choose to communicate that.
I also think we need to condense the complaining. If we had a few threads dedicated to the injustices, they may get actual feedback. We can communicate our frustrations in a concise and civilised manner. It makes it easier to moderate and easier for Blizz to scour through the legitimate problems.
At the moment, with the wall of vitriol, all we are doing is dividing our voices. Creating division within the community and fuelling negativity. We need the discussion to be productive to get results.
