Idea: Permanent solution to full servers and queues. Opinions please

A decent, permanent solution I think most people could be happy with:

-Once a server gets full, no accounts can make a new character on that full server, or transfer a character to that full server if the account did not already have at least one character on it before the server got full.

-If an account had at least one character on the full server, before it got full, that account should have access to that server without waiting in queue. Said account can make as many new characters as they want.

-After a certain period of time (6 months? 12 month?) of an account’s continued inactivity on said full server, all of that account’s characters will be automatically transferred to a server with a lower population in order to make room for potentially new incoming player accounts.

What do you guys think? I’m genuinely curious to know.

No.

Games over by then.

But you’re okay with it other than the time frame of 6 months or 12 months?
What period of time works best in your opinion?

I said no before that. So no.

Oh just to be a non-constructive contrarian then?

There’s nothing constructive on putting server caps. You are going to force people to quit the game entirely.

No.
This is just more separate but equal treatment for a portion of the playerbase.
Everyone gets the same options.

Like having people waiting in hours long queue’s won’t force people to quit?

If people are waiting, they are choosing to wait. That is a choice being made. You can’t speak about them having a different opinion because that isn’t what they are doing are they?

I agree, minus the amount of time and moving people. Once you have any character on a server your okay staying on it forever.
Minimum character level of like 10 or something, and your good. Just stop letting people transfer to already full servers. That is the entire problem

if someone does NOT already have an account / character on that server and wants to make one they can get lost imo. i think locking the server makes sense if its full. that’s what the low servers / new players servers are for. if its full its full. you dont go to a movie theater and sit in the damn aisles they dont let you you wait for the next showing… you want to play with 5 friends you pick a server that is not full.

Thank you for being constructive.
I wonder though, wouldn’t that full server just remain full forever with no chance of new players coming in if no accounts are automatically transferred off for long inactivity?

there used to be a time i think when characters under 30 ( not sure of the level) were deleted or scrubbed but after a few years they stopped doing that. i dont remember when though. lvl 60’s were never deleted.

which is fine if you already have a character, shes talking about if you dont have one, then you cannot make one.

Then what solution would you propose to the players who have had characters established in these full servers before they got full. Just “Too bad so sad for you. Wait in line”?
Seems very wrong to me.

You want to implement a first come first serve basis that gives you priority over the currently first come first serve system in place. You just want priority, not for what is right, but for you. That is what is wrong.

  • Once a server is full, wait out the global State of Emergency that we are currently in, that is a never-before-seen pandemic where most states have called for a quarantine period.

Problem solved.

You could not be more wrong. This isn’t about me. This is about the game’s solution to the waiting problem. About the game’s design I guess you could say. I personally don’t have a character in any of these full servers.
I’m new here, but I can see the issues everyone is having and I’d like to know there could be a permanent solution to it all.

This absolutely is about you because if you were able to get in and play you’d be doing so right now. You’ve all but admitted that. What is your concern for players that want to play on the server you’re playing on, but weren’t among the first 10k players to create a character on it? SOL? For what? Because you don’t want to wait in a queue? Seems selfish to me…

but its not. most of the full servers were full before this even in February, and before that. these queues on faerlina herod and incendius have been going on for quite longer than this pandemic.
