Had an idea while running Razorfen Downs. Henry Stern is missing from the dungeon, so you can’t learn Goldthorn Tea anymore… but it’s never implied that Henry Stern is dead.
Bring back Henry Stern, put him in Booty Bay or something, somewhere both factions can talk to him, and have him sell the missing recipes from Classic WoW. He’ll even give you one for free: Goldthorn Tea.
It’s not necessary, but it’s not like it would take a lot of work to implement. You make completionist happy, you make players who like cooking happy, and it doesn’t impact the game in any way that makes everyone else unhappy. Heck, he could even sell Recipe: Dirge’s Kickin’ Chimaerok Chops for like 100,000 gold if you want people to interact with him.

They need to bring back all of the removed crafting recipes that are no longer available from quest givers, etc. Make them available via trainers and call it good. Simply removing them with their respective NPCs or other means of availability when those means were removed from the game was a huge oversight on Blizz’s part.

Personally I think it was intentional. Goldthorn tea for rogues could possibly complicate things while tuning raid bosses in current content.
I’m no programmer, though I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but couldn’t things like that be level limited? They’ve hotfixed things like the cobalt frag bomb belt tinker from Northrend to not be available below a certain level due to being stupid OP on twinks. Perhaps a “no effect above level 110” or some such thing?

Absolutely the patterns could be fixed and adjusted. However it is vanilla content, which 99% of the playerbase doesn’t care about and Blizzard doesn’t really make any money off of. So investing developer resources to make it work, at the risk of potentially breaking some other connected resource in the game, is just not worth it for them.
Yeah, I want my recipe to cook Worgen back. Should still be able to eat the non-playable ones.

Seconding this months later because we still need it.
As long as that “Goldthorn Tea” recipe sits in my “Unlearned” tab, I will never stop demanding a way to learn it!

There’s some leather working and tailoring recipes that were lost when the npc’s selling them were removed long before they took out the Goldthorn tea guy. They were parts of sets yet remain unavailable.
