IDEA: for the Blood Elf racial upgrade for 11.0.7

I would like to propose an idea that promotes the blood elf theme and is in line with their lore.

Name options:

  • Legacy of the Spellbreaker
  • Remember the Sunwell
  • Against all Odds

Racial Ability:
Removes all fear effects

The idea of this is to allow blood elves to retain their mastery over magic while embracing the idea of their heritage. They have endured the near extinction of their people, have pushed time and again against betrayals and have overcome fear in the face of overwhelming obstacles. Their ability to break fear aligns with this, it also aligns with one of their elite guards ability to break spells. Since the Spellbreaker training was re-issued by Lor’Themar Theron in Mist of Pandaria and the elite Spellbreaker group allowed to come back into service it would be a great concept to add to the blood elves.

Considering Humans get to clear Stuns through “Will to Survive” I believe the blood elves being able to clear fears is both lore aligned and a great way to upgrade their racial.

Having the Belf racial be breaking spells as offensive magic would be ironically perfect, since Nightborne tend to mostly specialize in defensive shields and utilitarian magics like summons and various mancies.

I agree, and I feel the concept fits pretty well with their history, the spellbreakers of both the nightborn and blood elf races focused on the techniques that would counter spellcasters, I wanted to play into the limitations of the human racial by selecting only one spell to break (if it was old Every man for himself, this would be broader) and fear was the idealistic concept to apply here.
