Idea for old content

I was just remembering Nintendo power magazines. How we used to challenge ourselves to get the most points or 9999999 in Mario.

I know that blizz has this upcoming variety show. But what if each zone had a leaderboard for various things. And those at the top get an achievement or some reward. Maybe even establish an achievement based on the cumulative results to add new achievements to Old content like:.

Do strangle Thorn vale in 30 minutes for gold Quest achievement. Silver for an hour. Bronze for 2 hours. Probably not realistic but just as a quick idea.

Much like the variety show you are limited to no group play. You could have different leaderboard categories such as players with:

Most time spent in the zone
Fastest story completion alone
Have an option to reset the story to
redo it.
Most mobs killed
Longest war mode surviving player as Servant of N’zoth

Stuff like that. Have it reset every 3 months.

Thoughts? Complaints?

Leave timed content in mythic+

I don’t think WoW needs more competitive/timed/scored content - at least not for me thanks.

Well and I understand your feelings on the matter. Just an idea

But I just realized that maybe doing this content needs to be almost like an instance.

Like you click on Zidormi and she sends you to the time zone strangle thorne. That way you are not limited or distracted by other players

i missed the part where you said everyone was required to participate in the timing portion im not sure where all these other people in the thread saw it

If I miss type something I meant as completely optional. And not to interfere with the regular world.

Just something for people to do that is solo play in old zones. For completely optional rewards not tied to any player power

I like achievements as much as the next guy, but I have zero interest in redoing everything I already did “with a twist” for some obscure ladder that has no staying power. It’s OK to be done with something.
If they did something like this in the form of fun mini events or something without any try hard score pushing, I’d be more open to it. As it stands right now, the mini events in WoW are really underwhelming and too infrequent to really interest me.
