The next expansion does not have to be some epic story. It needs to have a story of course. We beat the jailor and shadowlands is all good and we never see it again.

The horde declare a new king and they desire to destroy all alliance even children. No peace, no anything but genocide. Make alliance and horde enemies again. Make the story about this. I think we would love this as the story. All about war and survival.

X-packs are typically 2 years long in game time. That’s not enough time to rebuild
We had people on this forum complaining about the horde vs alliance story being too long and drawn out, and basically they were asking for non-faction-conflict oriented stories.
Also… Bluntly spoken, I don’t think story as a concept matters (as far as ‘saving the game’ goes) all that much.

BETTER IDEA- they make the next expansion in the starcraft universe, and we have no idea how or why we’re there, but Raynor is there to greet us when we wake up from the fever dream. Shadowlands was never real.
The next xpac is probably pretty polished at this point, 11.0 concept probably being worked on, don’t know if Blizz will change course on that but 10.0 is likely already set. I’d set your ideas on 13.0
This story is completely played out and needs to just go away.

It’s time to make cross faction LFR and LFD, along with all instances and raids.
We can have different stories…but that’s the only real solution to assist with queue times. And it might not even help out with much.
Alliance VS Horde was Vanilla and BFA.
We’re fighting cosmic crap, now, together. Oh…and Sylvanas. Because evidently Sylvanas is bipolar, and has to screw over both factions, and then love them a raid tier later.

IT would be amazing to have a real war between horde and alliance for the next expansion.
But it should be a direct conflict where pve involves instances invading cities and popular characters are being murdered as boss for each instance
My Idea:
There’s been a lot of talk about how the next XPac will be “Light” themed, and there’s a lot of people who want to focus on Azeroth. I think we can do both.
The Scarlet Crusade, remember them? what if a splinter faction, or remnants of the original group are back, and stronger than ever as they’ve been busy recruiting while the Horde and Alliance have been busy fighting various space daddies.
The group could be spread across Azeroth, giving Blizzard a reason to update old zones, and old dungeons. There could be a Scarlet Monastery Raid, and obviously an update to those dungeons, they could all be in the same place like how ICC was.
Most importantly I think they need a leader that’s easy to hate, I’m thinking like “Father” from Far Cry 5, I also think he should be a human male paladin, because nothing is easier to hate in wow than that. I want to see a leader who’s a complete sociopath and not afraid to get his hands dirty, the most we’ve seen from the Jailor is him throwing Bane of a somewhat high cliff.
We need a good villain. The best villain we have had so far, has been Guldan. These villain sucks these days

War of the tittle of the game is not just about Alliance vs Horde. It’s about all wars: Burning Legion, Scourge, Twilight Hammer Cult, Nagas, Kor’krons, Iron Horde, Old gods, Maw army and many other threats.
In fact, the burning legion is maybe the original first threat of the warcraft universe, way before Alliance and Horde even exist.

Reassign Ion and some of the other shot callers and hire experience proven developers that know what it takes to make an mmorp fun and not solely based around analytics.
I think Legion would have been better if it has splitted in 2 expansions.
