With as incredible as the environmental design is for raids and dungeons and seeing as it’s clear that and designing them for M+ is all they care about, why not utilize the raids and dungeons MORE? Like we have LFR which is easy mode, Normal, Heroic, and lastly Mythic or hard mode… why not a story/RP mode? Maybe have a larger group capacity or virtually no group limit and allow folks to just explore legacy raids on LFR or even other difficulties?
The potential for player made events is astronomical. Imagine a 50 man or so Kharazan… or even Scholomance.
I would love to back those raid but not to one shot everything, i wish to enjoy it again as a proper playable content.
Would be nice if they used visions/torghast player scale system to create a mode for legacy Raid and Dungeon, adapting the mechanics, hp and damage according the player number, between 1 to 5.
The difficult would be something mid, not too hard but also not too easy, just the enough to be fun and engaging. They could put color variants of the sets, mounts and pets of these places as drop reward.
You can do this now. Just go into the LFR thing via the NPC and one shot everything because legacy buffs. Or just walk in and do it on Normal. Same difference once the buff is active.
It’d be fun if old raids scaled up to 70 and offered all of that gear with LFR-level stat budgets, but I think it would be unreasonable to ask Blizzard to adjust all of those set bonuses and use/proc effects to the Retail game.
So you get to 70 on your paladin, you gear up with crafted/Heroic pieces, then you can queue up for a level 70 Blackwing Lair and you can get LFR_level Judgment gear pieces, but there’s no set bonuses. Let’s say those stats are good enough to help you start plugging away at Mythics or Normal Aberrus or some such.
This basically just adds variety to the gearing ladder using old content…like Timewalking does now I guess, lol.
Of course, this is probably a stupid amount of work on top of what they’re already doing.
I think Blizzard should revamp Timewalking and basically copy FFXIV’s Duty Roulette. You can queue in for any dungeon or raid in the entire game and you get scaled down to the appropriate level. Max level players get a daily bonus of whatever currency while leveling players get a daily bonus of EXP and faster queue times. They can even keep the Weekly Event as a special bonus week with the weekly quest and increased rewards for its duration.
Also, I think we need more Onyxia-style raids. Just short, one-boss raids between tiers to mix things up a bit.
With maybe 25 people, 5 in a dungeon, what if we had a mode that increased the dungeon/raid group capacity to well beyond 25 or 5? Thus the story/RP mode where more people could be in a raid, comparable to LFR most likely for ease of exploration. More work for them to do, but also maybe add more interactivity to said dungeons and raids with objects like cups, some chairs, plates, etc?
Just brain storming ideas of how to use instance content for fun RP till they decide to revamp the old Cata world with newly refurbished zones, hopefully to Boralus and recent hub city standards.
