Would having Abomination Limb become Shadowfrost damage instead of shadow be possible for dragonflight?
Only unholy benefiting from their mastery for this rather impactful ability is rather strange.

I feel like all the DK abilities should be shadow frost dmg to bring balance to these abilities. Or the frost DK mastery should be changed to shadowfrost mastery to make abilities like death and decay and deathcoil more viable as well.
It also benefits from Blood Mastery.
Ideally I’d like the hands to be themed around the spec (red, purple and icy)
Without the legendaries and conduits supporting Abom it’s going to be doing much less damage and will probably be only taken for its utility. Not a bad idea though for the sake of consistency.
I’m hoping it becomes shadowfrost and we see some sort of damage amp applied to it.
Otherwise I feel like it shouldn’t really be a final talent. Maybe a mid row? Could make it a choice one with gorfiends
Even with it being insanely good utility it will be a feels bad moment if you have to gimp your dps.
I feel like the idea should be empower rune weapon for BOS, slappy hands for aoe and SR for ST.
Does any other class have utility as their final talent?
i agree. death and decay and abomination limb should at least deal shadowfrost. why does frost dk get no mastery benefit from it? unholy dk doesn’t get any frost damage skills.
Not entirely against the idea but if Abom’s Limb would deal Shadowfrost Damage, why not every ability that deals Frost or Shadow Damage exclusively that Frost and Unholy shares deal Shadowfrost Damage?
I was an advocate of Death’s Due dealing Shadowfrost Damage because y’know… Night Fae, Winter Queen all that stuff. But since it’s gonna get yeeted in DF…
… and then there might be a powercreep behind DPS DK Masteries especially Frost.
Better idea, abom limb does 0 damage, and it a utility spell
(having massive weird passive sources of damage like abom limb is part of why our other abilities feel so bad, plus if it were utility only it can be adjusted to be an earlier ability to unlock maybe a shorter cd etc etc)
But it’s a capstone talent. It needs to contribute something other than pure utility to be worth taking when it’s directly competing with other capstone talents for output.
Youre extremely wrong if you thing a mass aoe grip that spam grips is a utility not worth taking over slight damage increases. In future raid fights that utility could be game changing, and in pvp its gamechanging by itself.
Making it do damage especially high damage just makes our other base buttons really weak and noodle hits which feels worse as a whole
I get where you’re coming from here, but SL design has nothing to do with this. There’s 0 reason the rest of our kits have to be undertuned because a giant 2m cooldown should also be contributing to our damage. If you make it pure utility, other dps specs will continue to outshine dks more and more unless we are given additional tools baked into our class design.
The power would have to come from somewhere. I know you have me on ignore and wont see this, but others will and it needs to be drilled into people that unless you are underpowered, the power of something new would have to come from somewhere. Its the same thing that happened with KM rank 2 when it was introduced had an accompanying nerf to Obliterate because that power has to come from somewhere.
