hey blizz, i have yet another idea…
i spent my morning during maintenance brainstorming possible improvements for this hero class, because that’s what i like to do.
Note: this is just an idea and not meant to be 100% perfect or balanced.
Double Note: i also did my best to make this look good and fancy with capitilsation and proofreading or whatever, so there’s that.
Deathstalker’s Mark:
While stealthed, quickly generate stacks of Deathstalker’s Mark (5 per second) upon yourself (as a non-dispellable buff), up to 100.
Generating combo points with damaging abilities transfers an equivalent amount of Deathstalker’s Marks to the enemy (lasting 30 seconds), while consuming combo points with damaging finishing moves on marked enemies retrieves an equivalent amount of applied marks back to you, dealing (75% of attack power) plague damage per combo point consumed. When an enemy afflicted by any Deathstalker’s Marks dies, those marks are retrieved (max range 40 yards), healing you for 3% of your maximum health per mark.

Clear the Witnesses:
After retrieving 5 Deathstalker’s Marks from an enemy, your next [ASN: Fan of Knives][SUB: Shuriken Storm] within 30 seconds deals an additional (100% of attack power) plague damage and generates an additional combo point. This effect can stack up to 3 times.
Singular Focus:
Generating combo points with single target damaging abilities on an enemy afflicted by Deathstalker’s Mark deals an additional 5% plague damage per combo point generated.
Hunt Them Down:
Auto attack damage you deal against an enemy afflicted by Deathstalker’s Mark deal an additional (25% of attack power) plague damage, and dealing plague damage to an enemy has a 15% chance to transfer one stack of Deathstalker’s Mark to them (max range 40 yards).

Fatal Intent:
When an enemy afflicted with any Deathstalker’s Marks dies, the retrieval of those marks (max range 40 yards) causes them to explode violently to deal (60% of attack power) plague damage per mark to all enemies within 8 yards, dealing reduced damage beyond 5 targets.
Choice - Lingering Darkness:
Transferring Deathstalker’s Mark (to and from enemies) increases all plague damage you deal by 1% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 15 times (stacks overlap but do not refresh). [ASN: Shiv][SUB: Symbols of Death] grants you 15 stacks instantly.
or - Symbolic Victory:
Damaging finishing moves which consume at least 5 combo points restore 3 energy per combo point consumed, and increase the damage of your next [ASN: Envenom or Crimson Tempest][SUB: Eviscerate or Black Powder] by 30%.
Corrupt the Blood:
When an enemy afflicted by Deathstalker’s Mark receives damage from [ASN: Garrote or] Rupture, their blood is corrupted by a virulent plague which inflicts (2.5% of attack power) plague damage every 2 seconds (increased by haste), stacking up to 10 times, for as long as [ASN: Garrote or] Rupture is present. Rupture’s duration is increased by 2 seconds per combo point.

Choice - Momentum of Despair:
When you critically strike with [ASN: Fan of Knives][SUB: Shuriken Storm], increase the critical strike chance by 15% and critical strike damage by 32% of [ASN: Fan of Knives and Crimson Tempest][SUB: Shuriken Storm and Black Powder] for 12 seconds.
or - Follow the Blood:
[ASN: Fan of Knives and Crimson Tempest][SUB: Shuriken Storm and Black Powder] deal 30% additional damage as plague while 3 or more enemies are afflicted with Rupture.
Choice - Death’s Delight:
Cloak of Shadows duration increased by 3 seconds, Feint duration increased by 4 seconds, and Evasion duration increased by 5 seconds. These bonuses are lost while any of the three are on cooldown.
or - Ethereal Cloak:
Evasion also reduces magical damage taken by 20%. Cloak of Shadows also reduces physical damage taken by 20%.
Choice - Assail from the Shadows:
Your damaging finishing moves against enemies afflicted by Deathstalker’s Mark reduce the cooldown of Shadowstep by 3 seconds per mark retrieved. Using Shadowstep on a marked enemy reduces its cooldown by 33%.
or - Shadewalker:
Entering stealth grants you additional stacks of Deathstalker’s Mark, up to 40, instantly refreshes Shadowstep, and, while stealthed, does not trigger its cooldown.

Bad Things Come In Threes:
After transferring Deathstalker’s Mark (to and from enemies) 3 times, the damage, critical strike chance, and critical strike damage of your next [ASN: Ambush or Mutilate][SUB: Shadowstrike or Backstab/Gloomblade] is increased by 33%. Every 333rd time you damage an enemy with an attack or ability, your next benefit from Bad Things Come In Threes is increased by 300% (to 99% extra damage, crit, and crit dmg).
