Bards r dumb. Fight me.

They’re in every high fantasy ever so I would like to see them. Arts/Music magic is awesome.

Wow isn’t every high fantasy ever. We’ve fought elves on spaceships, Egyptian god robots, and a sentient AI dedicated to eradicating all sentient life on Azeroth.

WoW has done more to distinguish itself from “High Fantasy” at every turn.

That doesn’t mean bards are impossible. I just don’t think they’d fit into WoWs universe as neatly as other things from the Warcraft games.

Oh come on.
It’s very closely based on dungeons and dragons and we have every main dnd class but bard.

Demon hunters are the only unique class there and i think they’re much more niche than a bard fantasy.

We don’t have Artificer either, FYI.
Also, I would argue WoW broke from its DND mold a long time ago.

Back in the RTS days, the First WarCraft game was pretty deliberately a ripoff of Warhammer, but by WarCraft 3, they had carved out their own niche of being a unique Sci-Fi / High fantasy world.

I think WoW’s uniqueness is something to be celebrated in that regard.

But all of the classes we got in Vanilla took direct inspiration from WC3. And every class added since then has also taken inspiration from WC3

So, I would like to run that well dry first.
Tinker is up next!

Imo we should-- though artificer is basically a gussied up alchemist, which we have through professions. Artificer would be a great addition.

Which would be very close to an artificer in my eyes, but I wouldn’t hate it.

I don’t know about just calling it a “gussied up alchemist”
While many artificers are Alchemists, that’s hardly their full scope of abilities.

In 5E, artificer has an entire specialization based on Building and tinkering on their own suit of customized power armor. It can even be instantly put on, Iron man style.

But! On the topic of the Alchemist artificer, a lot of people in this thread and others suggest that the Tinker class should also get the abilities that the Alchemist hero had in WC3, using elixirs and potions to buff and heal.
I think it would make a great alchemy themed healing spec, to compliment the Tinkers more mechanical side.

It definitely works in the game. I just think both bard and alchemist/tinker/artificer would work into a fantasy world like this.

I’m not too fond of the idea of a dragon class before these things but if it comes I’ll just get out the copium. xD

I would’ve said that bards don’t make any sense in WoW; and that magical music doesn’t exist in any prominent fashion.

But that was before Shadowlands.
Shadowlands has made a lot of connections involving magical music, so a bard certainly seems possible now.

But I would personally dislike it, because it doesn’t interest me thematically, and it would break from an almost 20 year long trend of adding classes from WC3.

Agreed. That’s the worst option.

Gnome/mechagnome, engineer boom tinker town! Just seems dry and unoriginal

Okay but none of the things you just said are classes that are in-line with Tinker.

You don’t see the relevance idk what else to say man, Tinker sounds unoriginal and blah to me, just my opinion. I’m all for the Shaman tank spec or 3rd spec Dh tho. As for a brand new class/race i’d like to see something like Naga or Ogres.

Which of the existing classes is a “Tinker”
In your opinion?

Because, we don’t have a Tinker class, or anything close.

How many RPG’s have you played where you can be a Pilot in a Mech Suit, alongside wizards and warriors?

So iron man?

Kind of like Ironman.
Except in WarCraft it would be more like a Goblin/Gnome Mecha and not Vibranium Nanomachine armor.

Uggh that sounds lame and pushes wow back into panda land…

Pandas was one of the most popular wow expansions so I’m good with that. Lol. Pandas and Legion stay winning.

Yeah I loved Pandaland.

We got my Favorite class from that Expac.
And it was also inspired by a WarCraft 3 hero. Just like Tinker would be

Yea idk man, i did enjoy the expansion but it brings the game into happy fun time light heart mode, i miss the deeper darker portions.
