Maybe some kind of toybox item that teleports you to somewhere in the sea and lets you fall for a few seconds before teleporting you back to where you were. Malfunctioning Hearthstone toy.

Nope. Thank you for the answer. As far as I was aware, that was only happening from the dragon daycare quests, and has been happening for months. Is this happening from the portals at the anniversary event to some people? I wonder if it’s the same broken game mechanics. Maybe if they fix it for the anniversary they will finally fix the daycare. I still need two and I am soooo tired of having to port back to Val from the middle of the ocean. Who am i kidding… they won’t fix it.
It has been happening with pretty much any portal that goes to Stormwind and even Garrison Hearthstones for some reason.

Well, the teleport to Stormwind from the Anniversary event will sometimes drop me off in the ocean, where the fatigue meter kicks in quick. Yet today on my horde characters switching between my 12 different characters I never had the portal issue.
Something isn’t right. 
My Mage can give you a portal to Dalaren. Bring a parachute.

I used my horde pally’s garrison heath from the anniversary event. She ended up in Lunarfall. I was disappointed because that garrison wasn’t built. All the Ally NPCs ignored her. so I had to fly to my actual garrison in Frostfire ridge.

Inscription USED to allow for the creation of teleportation scrolls. However, they had a max level for reliability. As such if the user outlevelled the scroll a risk of misdirection occurred. And yes, you could end up on the wrong continent high into the air.
I love when companies can make fun of themselves. That would earn them some karma I’m pretty sure
This was my feeling behind this post, I love companies owning the Ls they take.

I honestly thought this was an intended feature, where a portal could send you to odd locations sometimes. Well, it was too interesting to be intentional.
Either way, if you port to the middle of the ocean, just port again and it’s fixed.
