I'd like to see Blizzard's stats on what talents are picked for which forms of content for every class

(See title) I think it might illuminate folks on the forums that talent choices aren’t as pigeon-holed as we think they might be.

… or it could confirm everything we assume to be true.

There are 3P sites that aggregate this information, give’r a Google.

Look at the most accessible guides.

I’d say the most popular builds will be almost identical to whatever you find on icy veins or wowhead because you can just copy paste them

https://wowleaderboards.net/statistics/popular/talents gives a list of most popular talents, but leaves out a majority of talents.

I’m also curious to see what talents DON’T get picked. I think the critique would be useful.

Most people aren’t going to crunch the numbers. Some people are gonna do whatever they’re gonna do. But I think a majority is just gonna copy what people say who do crunch numbers.

That’s not going to change

I think there’s still a good spot Blizzard can land with all the specs. Take Wowhead’s Ret Paladin talent guide for example, it’s got loads of different optional (but still viable) loadouts based on personal preference and flavor.

I think every spec can reach that point.

Check Murlok dot io and go to your spec, it’ll give you a sense. There’s PvP but also a M+ option.

I’m sure that most data is limited (maybe this is only higher ranked M+ for example) but it does give you a sense what talents aren’t picked.

There’s probably other sites that do this, this is just one I’m aware of.

I think that’s more data than you realize. Sure, raid, mythic+, all those types, etc. But which affixes? What level of content? Single target? AOE? Cleave? Is my group missing something I need to account for? Some talents are pigeon-holed in certain situations.

When I am looking up specs or comparing healing talent choices to my own, I typically will go onto WarcraftLogs, and filter to what class I want. This gives me hps numbers, as well as I can view individual logs to see # of casts, how the other raid performed to affect said priest, and a list of all the common picked talents for logged fights.

Other than that, I like to review the forums of each class I play, as there are many different talent specs that people will post up for review, so thats a great read-through to see debates/theorycrafting.

Lastly, although a bit more technical, I do enjoy being in the class discords that I use (the priest one is VERY active, hopefully others are as well) as you can both ask and interact with people in your chosen class/role and get even more targeted information.

Warcraft logs, sub creation, and murlok.io all show this information

Most of these sites only show top performers, which are all going to use recommended cookie cutter builds and strategies (for the most part).

I’d like to see something that gathers a much wider scope of data.

For what purpose?

We? What are you even going on about up in here now??! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Truth is you can get away with any build for less than mythic raid or <15 mythic+.

We just choose people who are more efficient built as insurance for possible completion. It’s a fallacy as it is not reliable to mechanic play. But it makes us feel better

Then you need to go to the class discords.
