it was restricted to your realm only, and did not instantly teleport you to the dungeon.
The problem with LFD is in three parts:
It removes the socialization of having to talk to other people and manually invite them. You can’t pick what classes/specs you want in your group, the game just throws together a tank, healer and 3 random DPS.
It removes the need to actually travel through the world to the dungeon, thus making the world feel small. You can just sit in town and queue for dungeons instead of actually going anywhere. What’s the point of having a world if you can just ignore it and teleport around everywhere? WoW is an MMO, not a lobby-game.
Being cross-realm essentially makes it anonymous because you are never going to see those other people again after the dungeon ends, and this leads to bad behavior because there are no repercussions beyond being kicked from the group.
If it were restricted to your own realm, the third problem would be solved, and if it didn’t teleport you, the second problem would be solved. The first one isn’t TOO bad since Wrath dungeons don’t really require any specific group compositions.
But yeah, it’s really just the second and third that I take issue with. Those are the reasons I don’t want LFD, but if those were solved, I’d be fine with LFD.
You can only fly to the dung so many times before you get sick of it. Wotlk was the dung spam exp because of dual spec, looms for badges, and rep gains. No way it will be enjoyable without teleporting. Also, you miss out on needed roles getting the extra bag, or any bag, extra gold, and extra badges. Realm specific is fine, but many realms are low pop. Classes tend to get left out without RDF for “optimal” class/specs. Wrath heroics are not meant to be a constant difficult encounter, its essentially your world quest/dailies. They should add mythic difficulty with no RDF if they want to try and keep, a poor mind you, community aspect.
Socialization lol. That does not matter. I can join your random pug and not speak a single word the entire run. Just like i can join that same random pug thru RDF and still not speak a single word. RDF is not forced on anyone for use or play style. If you don’t like it don’t use. I personally like leveling alts thru RDF and RBG’s i absolutely hate questing.
Apparently you didn’t understand my sarcasm of socialization doesn’t matter. I’ll explain it again, "I can join your random pug and not speak a single word the entire run without RDF. Just like i can join that same random pug thru RDF and still not speak a single word. "
See again you don’t understand. I never said i do that. Just using this as an example. RDF and PUG’s are the same thing just one is made automatic. Absolutely no difference. Me personally i do not group outside of my guild anyway.
I’m saying the same behavior can be seen in both ways of making a group. Either RDF which is automatic or PUG’S which is made manually. Why ruin the game for others because you don’t like a feature.
of course for the LFG 1- it avoids wasting time going from corner to corner looking for the entrance, in times when you were younger you could play longer now not with the little time people have what they want is to enter and play besides it is an old expansion 2- this tool is very good to level up as it gives you a bonus for completing the dungeon 3- that socializing in a game is for geeks, in school I played it with school friends grow up mtf**k
