Icy Citadel will not overlap with pillar.

Edit: Are you saying your Ice Citadel was still rolling and you Ice Capped crit enough to reactivate Pillar before Ice Citadel wore out? I didn’t think that was possible.

Use a Weak Aura for Cold Heart. (You can google how to use weak auras and import the Cold Heart script)

Yes that was the case with me as well. Because you have 2 weapons they can simultaneously crit. So it was pretty easy to have Icy Citadel buff still going when your pillar comes off CD.

Also consider the Azerite neck trait that give you 100% crit for a period of time. You could pull Pillar off CD in no time.

Yes you can have both buffs up. Thats why Icy citidel is so strong for the icecap build.

Partly, it has a lot higher uptime overall which is the major factor.

The build is fun, but i’ve made the determination that I am just terrible at frost. =/

Same here. I was pulling awesome numbers on target dummies but in the actual raid with all the movement involved I was always last in DPS. I ended up switching back to Unholy. It was really very fun to play though and I’d consider trying it again at some point.

These videos are outdated and are generally based on theorycrafting that isn’t rigorous or correct. I wouldn’t recommend.

For PvP Frost guides, I recommend Flarkness. Multi glad and all that, good stuff.

For PvE, the highest siming build actually involved Icecap at the moment. However, the build quickly loses value in real situations since it’s affected negatively by downtime during boss fights. Breath is fine with downtime as long as it’s not during the Breath window itself.

Because im new to this, does any1 have the custom SimC Api for icecap build? my simming doesnt always seem to work best because im using icecap build with 3x Frostwhelp

Could you clarify what “not always work” means here?

I imagine that when she sims it, sometimes it doesn’t factor the 3x Frostwhelp instead of 2x with icy citadel.
