Can we please have this now. With the current damage profiles, dieing on global with iceblock available happens way too often and it’s really annoying when you’re just trying to get through your offensive go but suddenly take 100k then 80k, and get 1 tapped before the gcd clock finishes around.
how about no?
Fair enough but care to better explain your opinion?
there is a tone of spells id love off GCD add death to the list.
I agree, SWD should be off global. I know traditional andy’s will argue “their is purpose in the thought process of the global cooldown” but honestly my opinion is that all abilities that are used reactively should be off GCD.
I would also argue the way Ice block is used has changed over the years; and is a good reason for a change in GCD. Before Ice block could be used to prevent damage ahead of time or to dodge CCs. It’s hardly used that way anymore, similar to how rogue’s cloak is used more as a traditional defensive while in the past it could be used offensively more often safely.
Open to better explanations of why not though.
Because there’s nothing in the game that can kill you 100-0 in 1.2 seconds that isn’t extremely telegraphed (sniper shot, ritual of ruin chaos bolt) and/or complete casino rng (evoker DB → fire breath). Plus mage (frost) is in a pretty good spot rn anyways, doesn’t really need the help tbh.
Another mage thread omg didnt u guys just get a 50% buff like cmon give an inch take a mile
Ele sham proccing back to back lava bursts into an ascend proc
If anything more buttons need to be on the global.
That doesn’t affect just Frost though. That being said, I’d rather [Greater Invisibility] be taken off the GCD instead of an immunity, especially since it only lasts 3 seconds anyway.
This. It sucks that defensives aren’t uniform in their gcd requirements, but there’s something to be said for being aware enough to know damage is incoming and holding your global to be ready to press the defensive for it rather than reacting and getting it off instantly.
In general, full immunities are given gcds.
skill issue my man
Imho they should put every reaction/deff ability off GCD. Iceblock, Bubble, Deffs, Grounding Totem.
Especially if you consider that Spellreflect from Warri and Nether Ward from Lock is also off GCD.
It’s just dumb that you die with your one and only live saving ability still ready, just because you still had 0,2 sec GCD when you died.
No, that’s good gameplay. Discourages frantic button mashing.
Yeah but in this game you will lose if you make a lot of breaks between your abilities.
Especially with classes that play with a lot of instants you are CONSTANTLY on GCD.
Combine that with burst abilities and it happens a lot of time that you drop from 30%/40% to 0 in less than 1,5 sec.
For example the current Ele plays only with Instant casts.
That leads to the fact that I can almost NEVER catch the spells I want with grounding because i am always on GCD in that moment.
You play Warri. You don’t know the problem because you don’t have GCD on Spellreflect.
So in other words, if you are hovering around 60% hp mid fight, and someone presses big dam, you’re supposed to die one global later because you couldn’t ice block because you can die in one global if you aren’t topped; even though big defensive button is supposed to be the cd trade for big dam button? Just in the name of you think that promotes frantic button smashing?
So why are kicks even off the global with this logic?
So I guess I’m just supposed to only use shimmer/blink/counterspell and save my global for iceblock just in case he presses his super go, maybe my healer will be able to top me off with me just using those abilities so I can save my global for ice block. Insanity.
All big defensives and reactive skills like SWD should be off GCD. Imagine if meld and vanish was on GCD
Also what is and isn’t on GCD seems super arbitrary.
It should be more consistent.
Either give EVERY reaction ability GCD or no one.
So take shape shifting off the gcd so you can just never hex a druid on global?
Sitting on globals is meant to be a skill.
