Ice Block cancels now?

So I just now used Ice Block and when pressing the same button again it now automatically cancels Ice Block?! I swear it didn’t used to do that. I don’t have a macro for it or anything. And I definitely don’t want my ice block button to cancel it in case I press it multiple times by accident. Anyone else come across this? Is it an update or a bug?

Pretty sure it’s a toggle somewhere in-game. I vaguely remember having to switch it off in MoP or WoD for that very reason.

This has been in the game for 50 years. At least since BC, which is when I rolled my first mage.

Old thread I know but it looks like they’ve removed it. At the very least I can’t find it in the interface options any longer.

Really wish one wouldn’t have to waste a limited number of macros to replicate a UI option they removed.

It definitely has not been in the game since TBC. Only for a few expansions now but no macro needed, nor was there ever any settings option to turn it on/off I do not believe, it was just a change.

This is accurate, i have been playing mage since vanilla, the iceblock toggle became a thing in WoD, which was 7 years ago. And even still you want a cancel IB macro, the toggle can’t be used till your global times out, where as the cancel aura macro is an instant cancel as soon as you use it if you press it twice too fast, which makes for a lot faster momentum in pvp. And never was there an option to allow IB to toggle as an interface option, it was just a feature that was integrated.
