After skipping through the Valithria encounter using the portals on my Warrior, when I went to take the elevator down to the next boss, I passed right through it and fell to my demise. Tried it again, same thing happened. Was able to use heroic leap the third time to not die, but I haven’t tested actually healing through the encounter yet to see if that fixes the elevator. Testing on my priest or druid next, so I’ll be back with the results.
Oddly enough, the first elevator after the second boss that takes you up to the Gunship battle seems to be working. Just the second elevator seems to be broken.

Just healed through the encounter on my Paladin and I was able to ride the elevator this time, so it seems that skipping through with the portals causes the elevator to break.
I’ll try again on a non-healing class to see if I can replicate the issue.

Went on my Night Elf Hunter and shadowmelded through the encounter and was able to ride the elevator after skipping the healing section. However, retried the fight, this time using the portal to skip the encounter and fell through the elevator once more. It seems as though you can skip the encounter with stealthing and the elevator works just fine, but the portals are the things that are breaking the elevator.
Next time I will try on my Rogue and see if their Vanish works as well.
Stealthing past and Vanishing as a Rogue during the encounter also cause the elevator to continue working. However, once again, after using the portal I fell through the elevator after the fight reset. Definitely linked to using the portals to skip the encounter. All other forms of skipping or completing it seem to make the elevator work afterward.

You can also just run around the outside of the room. As long as you are max level you shouldn’t aggro anything. This is the way i just did it today in my rogue (no stealth)

I’ll try it on a non-stealth class, but it’s helpful to know you can just walk around it. I’m still glad I tested out the portal thing, even if it’s not completely necessary. Portals breaking elevators is a very weird bug.
Confirmed. Elevator breaks only when portals are used. Walked around the edge of the room to avoid combat on second attempt and elevator worked.
