Using a z490 mb currently with a i5-10400f and 120mm AIO cooling. Use the pc for World of Warcraft but mostly for some Ag modelling when onsite with farmers. As such, it is in tough temp environments (40 C+ is common in the areas where we go). The work software has a very similar performance profile to WoW so when we look to upgrade, we check the performance and fps on WoW to make our decisions. Managed to score a rx 6700 xt to replace the rx 580 but the 10400f is being shown up now. Memory is tuned to the max, 10400f is running @ close to 4.3Ghz all cores and temp under full loads in the field (ambient around 42 C) never exceeds 75 C.
Our budget is around AUD$400 which seems to be a i5-11600K or i7-10700f. Between the 2 processors, which will run the cooler while producing the highest fps in this sort of setup (currently get 120-160fps in Oribos and lows of 72fps on the Ardenweald run in 1440p Ultra)?
