Seems like the Moonkin forms could be a way of experimenting with adding more customization. I wouldn’t mind if they did the same thing for Cat, bear and travel forms.
Seems like a good way to add more druid races and allow you to customize them. If all Druid forms shared the same model it would be easier to add more reskins for races that need them.
Like if you’re a Forsaken druid you have a skin option to make them look rotting. Mechagnomes could make them look mechanical.
I don’t know about you guys, but unless I’m playing on a Zandalari druid I only ever use my mage tower or other unlocked forms, I never use the base racial ones.
I’d gladly take this as a compromise for more druid races.

Aside from the base racial forms, they do. All races share the same Artifact and Mark forms. Just have to collect them to make them available.
Could they assign new generic forms to new races? Sure. Will everyone be happy with that? I don’t think so. Even with skins, some people will not be happy.
You always come in the threads and say the same things. They’re getting druids eventually whether you like it or not, that’s the goal.
So instead of saying what you don’t like, why don’t you be constructive and say how you WOULD like the forms to be?
Me too. And that’s what I see in the world as well. The only racial ones I see get much use are the Zandalari swim form and the Kul’Tiran moonkin. Otherwise everyone just uses the feathercats, the glowycats, the glowybears. I am partial to the old Legion PvP bears. I worked my butt off earning the dark green one.
And I respond to every one of these threads (hundreds of them btw) to remind people its a clown take and even Ion has confirmed that it won’t be happening.

I just want more skins of all the druid models… More choices are always good. Maybe they will give a new druid race the cat-man/werecat model and we will all have new drama to freak out over. 
The easier explanation for shared forms is: I was taught by X, so I look like X. However, the purists would be up in arms when people assumed their Human was a Worgen, or their Void Elf was a Night Elf. Same for the Horde. Tauren all have horns and Trolls have tusks. Vupleran could be far cuter with their own form.
I would roll a Mechagnome Druid if that happened. Transformers: Beast Wars was one of my favorite shows growing up.
We have Pandaren Warlocks and the Eredar Allied Race. C’mon. Blizzard has repeatedly said Classic was a clown take until they caved and did it too.

I can get behind this for sure, especially if the Druid in question is in cat form. I think the model should be based off the Night Elf model, and to have access to it the character would have to be a Night Elf. If they aren’t a Night Elf, they could be a Warrior or something else, maybe a Hunter. If they were a Hunter, they could tame a cat and a bear and name them something vaguely Druish. They’d even look Druish. I think that would make a lot of people happy. Think of all the Druish forms they could have!
Also, I was skimming really fast even for skimming and I read this wrong.
I read it as Foreskin Druid. On the other hand, I’ve known a few Druids and maybe i didn’t read it so wrong after all.
