Not as an AR though, they are just Goblins with fins and gills. Let them be a customization option for Goblins the way all the Dwarf and Troll offshoots are going to be in Shadowlands.

They have the potential to be so much more though as demonstrated with my fan made model edits. If some decent effort was put into them, they could be very distinct from land based goblins. I’ll show you some more of them.
Granted this is not their cannon look, but the point of these is effort. I think that would make an excellent addition to the horde.

To be fair. It was probably because of Sylvanas that the horde was as evil as they were.
Goblin? Check.
Aquatic? Check.
Self-sufficient? Check.
Adaptable? Check.
Neri? Check.
Poen? Check.
Vim? Check.
Murlocs, Makura, Sea Giants? Check, check, check.
Bring 'em on!

Nah I would have to pass on gilblins. They are out of place in any non-aquatic environment and they’re too lovey-dovey / goody two shoes for the Horde.
Then ya know what I say? Third faction. Aquatic races only!
Aquatic races could have been a nice feature of an aquatic based expansion.
But seeing how they yeeted the most notable and biggest aquatic based villains in the span of two patches… I think that ship has sailed.

So much lost potential with Azshara and Nazjatar. I think they should have given Azshara her own fully dedicated expansion with zones that were fully aquatic and lots of variety.

Agreed, Azshara could have been her own expansion that eventually led into N’zoth and Black Empire themed expansion.

Or even like this Tidal Guardian Class concept I came up with. This would have been a great way to introduce new aquatic themed races.
